Troubleshooting Meaning Action Low Temperature Display Display Measured temperature too low, 3 short beeps are emitted. Probe may have been inserted incorrectly. Retake temperature measurement. High Ambient Temperature Display Ambient temperature too high (above 104.0˚F or 40.0˚C). 3 short beeps are emitted. Take the measurement in operating temperature range. (50.0˚F -104.0˚F / 10.0˚C 40.0˚C) Low Ambient Temperature Display Ambient temperature too low (below 50.0˚F or 10.0˚C).

Memory Function The Ear Thermometer memory function stores the last measurement. This measurement will appear for approximately three seconds after turning the thermometer on and after it runs its built-in test. The ready display will then show after last reading appears. This feature allows you to compare your most recent measurement to the prior one.

Safety 1st Forehead Strip Thermometer Important Notes • Commonly used for babies, young children or when it is difficult to take an oral or underarm temperature. • Product should be used indoors at room temperature 68 - 86°F (20-30°C). • Wait 30 minutes after eating, drinking, or exercising before taking temperature. Ideally you should lie or sit down at least 5 minutes prior to taking your temperature for the most accurate reading.

RECTAL USE: q Commonly used for babies, young children or when it is difficult to take an oral or underarm temperature. q Lubricate probe tip with a water-soluble lubricant or petroleum jelly. q Gently insert the probe tip no more than 1/2 inch (1.3) cm into the rectum. Do not force the tip into the rectum if resistance is encountered. Please note the ring at the end of the probe helps ensure you don’t insert too far. Reference over insertion gauge above. q Clean the thermometer as recommended above.
