SWITCHING ON
CHOOSING THE ADAPTOR
Choose the adaptor according to your country.
1. Assemble the adaptor into the power transformer supplied.
SWITCHING ON YOUR RADIO
1. Connect the power transformer supplied with your radio.
2. Connect the power plug to the mains.
For the model HM40, the icon indicates that your radio is
charging. The charge cycle is complete when the icon is full.
USING THE RADIO DAILY
LOCKING / UNLOCKING THE RADIO
To carry your radio while it is on, place the button on the right side of your radio in the raised
position. The control buttons are inactive.
POSITIONING THE FM/DAB AERIAL
For optimal reception, extend the aerial. If necessary, move it to adjust the position.
SWITCHING FROM FM MODE TO DAB MODE
Press the key on the right side of your radio.
The screen displays the corresponding icon.
SEARCHING FOR A RADIO STATION
IN FM MODE
1. Press the key. The station search screen appears.
2. Turn the knob to the right or left to scan the FM band.
The progression is displayed on the screen.
3. At the end of the search, the radio broadcasts the station with the best signal.
Only use batteries, chargers and accessories approved for use with this model.
Connecting other accessories may be dangerous and void your warranty rights.
Before using your radio the first time, change it for 12 hours.
The battery will operate best after 3 to 4 charge cycles. As batteries have a limited
lifespan, standby or operating autonomy will diminish with use.
Keep the aerial away from any source of radiation to prevent interference (television,
video recorder, etc.).
The message No signal - Start over is displayed if the reception quality is insufficient
in DAB mode. Check the direction of the aerial.
To fine tune your scan, you can manually scan the FM band. For more details, see the
section “Choosing the FM station search mode”, page 10.
