Installation Guide

A quality mixture of cementitious materials, sand and special additives.
For the rapid repair of concrete walks, fl oors, steps and driveways. For
applications from ½ inch to 2 inches in thickness. Sets in 20 minutes.
SAFETY:
READ and UNDERSTAND the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using
this product. WARNING: Wear protective clothing and equipment. See HMIS
block. For emergency information, call CHEMTREC at 800-424-9300
or 703-527-3887 (outside USA). KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
PREPARATION:
Remove all loose concrete from the repair area by chipping with hammer
and chisel. Square up the area to be patched. Slick, sealed or hard troweled
surfaces should be roughened. Clean the surface thoroughly. Dampen the
area to be repaired just prior to application. Remove any standing water. If an
improved bond is desired, read the section on MIXING & PLACEMENT below
prior to mixing any material.
MIXING & PLACEMENT:
SAKRETE
®
Fast Setting Cement Patcher hardens very quickly. Be sure not to
mix more than can be placed in a 5-minute period. If additional working time
is needed, mix with cold water to slow the set. AVOID A SOUPY MIX. Excess
water reduces strength, durability, bond and can cause cracking. Add clean
water according to the table below or enough to achieve a workable mix.
When using less than a full bag, mix 5 parts SAKRETE
®
Fast Setting Cement
Patcher by volume with 1 part clean water. Use SAKRETE
®
Fast Setting Ce-
ment Patcher in one of the following three ways depending on the strength of
the bond that is required.
1. Normal Bond: Mix SAKRETE
®
Fast Setting Cement Patcher to a mortar like
consistency to fi ll the patch area. Using a trowel, work the mix into the voids
of the existing concrete.
2. Improved Bond: While area to be patched is still moist, mix a small amount
of SAKRETE
®
Fast Setting Cement Patcher with cold water to the consistency
of pancake batter and brush it over the area to be patched, carefully working
it into surface pores and voids. Then mix additional material with clean water
as described according to Water Requirement. Apply this material before the
primer coat dries.
3. Strongest Bond: For the strongest possible bond use SAKRETE
®
Concrete
Bonder/Fortifi er with SAKRETE® Fast Setting Cement Patcher. When using
SAKRETE® Concrete Bonder/Fortifi er, refer to the directions on the bottle.
FINISHING:
Level and smooth the patch with a trowel at once. No additional troweling or
nishing is required.
CURING:
In hot weather cover with a wet clean curing cloth and plastic. Keep continu-
ously moist for 24 hours. In cold weather adequately cover and keep from
freezing for a minimum of 24 hours.
STORAGE:
Store in a tightly closed container off the fl oor in a dry place.
