Replace an RTD
To ensure proper temperature control, replace an RTD as a complete unit, with soldered
gold contact pins and shielded wires. Refer to Parts for the RTD replacement kit part
number.
1. Disconnect and lock out electrical power to the melter system.
2. Disconnect the gun electrical connector.
3. Access the gun electrical cavity.
See Figure 13.
4. Cut the leads of the defective RTD (1) 25 mm (1 in.) from the RTD element (2).
5. Remove and discard the defective RTD element.
