Quick Set-Up IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure the cleanest and loudest possible output, and to protect your speaker system, we highly recommend pressing the LIMITER switch on. Using a Microphone • Be sure that the dB500a’s Power switch is set to the off position. • Turn the LINE and MIC LEVEL controls fully counterclockwise to the off position. • Connect the power cable to an AC socket. • Using a standard XLR cable, plug a microphone into the dB500a’s MIC INPUT.
Positioning the dB500a ENGLISH Microphone Positioning - How to Reduce Feedback Feedback is the annoying howling and squealing that is heard when the microphone gets too close to the speaker and the volume is high. You get feedback when the microphone picks up the amplified signal from the speaker, and then amplifies through the speaker again, and then picks it up again, and so on and so on. In general, it is always recommended that any LIVE mic (a mic that’s on) is positioned behind the speaker enclosures.
Operating the dB500a Controls and Functions 1 MIC LEVEL T he dB500a’s MIC LEVEL controls the overall level of the microphone input. The MIC LEVEL control features an audio taper. Raise the MIC Level to adjust the volume of the microphone connected to the MIC input. NOTE: Be sure to keep the MIC LEVEL control all the way off if there is no microphone connected.
Operating the dB500a Controls and Functions - continued ENGLISH 7 LOW FILTER The dB500a also incorporates a Low-cut FILTER which when engaged will roll off the low frequency response of the cabinet beginning at 80Hz. The low cut FILTER is two pole, which means that the low frequency roll off will gradually cut more and more of the low frequencies (12dB per octave). When you press the FILTER switch in, the green LED will illuminate indicating that the Low-cut FILTER is engaged.
dB500a System Set-ups Compact Lounge PA for Two ENGLISH This example shows a PA system setup that can be used for a small club, at a ceremony or in a lounge, using a single dB500a for both a microphone and vocal. A separate signal is sent from the vocal microphone to the dB500a’s Mic input, and from the keyboard to the dB500a’s Line input. The individual Mic and Line level controls allow you to create a mix right on the dB500a.
This example shows a typical PA system using mixer with a pair of dB500a’s for the main left and right mix. A separate signal from the mixer’s AUX/MONITOR bus is sent to two additional dB500a’s placed in the tilt-back, wedge positions for use as floor monitors. In order to increase the output of the monitor system, the use of an external graphic equalizer like one of the Samson “E” or “S curve” series is highly recommended.
Setting Up Your dB500a System Using Speaker Stands ENGLISH The dB500a enclosure features a standard 1 3/8”, pole mount receptacle, which is compatible with speaker stands from a variety of manufacturers. Before installing the dB500a on a speaker stand, loosen the thumbscrew located on the bottom of the rear side of the enclosure. Once installed on the stand, be sure to tighten the thumbscrew to hold the speaker in place. Be careful not to over tighten the thumbscrew to avoid stripping the threads.

Uso Immediato Nelle successive pagine di questo manuale troverete spiegati in dettaglio tutti i controlli e le funzioni dei dB500a, ma se volete cominciare a usarli subito vi bastano le istruzioni qui di seguito. NOTA IMPORTANTE: per ottenere l'uscita più pulita e al massimo livello possibile e per proteggere il vostro sistema di casse acustiche, vi raccomandiamo caldamente di attivare l'interruttore del LIMITATORE.
Il Posizionamento dei dB500a Il Posizionamento dei Microfoni - Come Ridurre il Feedback Il Feedback è quel noioso fischio stridulo che si avverte quando il volume è elevato e il microfono viene avvicinato troppo alla cassa. Il feedback nasce quando il microfono riprende il segnale amplificato dalla cassa e lo rimanda nuovamente alla cassa, e così via di continuo. In generale, è sempre raccomandabile che qualsiasi microfono ATTIVO (acceso) sia posizionato dietro le casse.
L'Uso dei dB500a Controlli e Funzioni I paragrafi che seguono spiegano in dettaglio ognuno dei componenti della sezione di INGRESSO dei dB500a compresi gli ingressi MIC e di LINEA, l'EQ a due bande ed i controlli di LIVELLO MIC e di LINEA. 1 LIVELLO DEL MIC Il LIVELLO del MIC del dB500a controlla il livello globale dell'ingresso microfonico e dispone di una resistenza a nastro specifica per l'audio. Usatelo per regolare il volume del microfono collegato all'ingresso MIC.
L'Uso dei dB500a Controlli e Funzioni - continua 7 FILTRO PASSA-ALTO I dB500a sono dotati di un FILTRO Passa-alto che, quando viene attivato, limita la risposta della cassa a partire da 80Hz. Il FILTRO Passa-alto è a due poli e questo significa che il taglio alle basse frequenze viene gradualmente aumentato via via che la frequenza diminuisce (12dB per ottava). Quando si attiva l'interruttore del FILTRO, se ne attiva il LED verde, ad indicare che il FILTRO Passaalto è attivo.
dB500a - Configurazioni di Sistema PA Compatto da Sala per Due SEGNALE ITALIANO Microfono per la voce SEGNALE Questo esempio mostra una configurazione di Sistema PA che può essere usata in un piccolo club, in una sala da cerimonie o in un salone di albergo e che sfrutta un singolo dB500a sia per voce che per tastiera. Dal microfono per la voce e dalla tastiera vengono inviati segnali separati rispettivamente all'Ingresso Mic ed all'Ingresso di Linea del dB500a.

dB500a - Configurazioni di Sistema L'Uso di Aste per Casse Acustiche Le casse acustiche dei dB500a sono dotate di un ricettacolo standard da 1 e 3/8” per l'installazione su asta compatibile con aste per cassa acustica di svariati costruttori. Prima di installare i dB500a sull'asta, allentatene la vite a galletto che trovate sulla base della parte posteriore della cassa acustica.
dB500a - Configurazioni di Sistema Installazione Permanente I dB500a sono la soluzione più logica per molte installazioni fisse in teatri per le esibizioni dal vivo, discoteche, scuole, parrocchie, centri congressi e terminali aeroportuali, solo per citare alcuni esempi. La loro cassa acustica è estremamente versatile dal punto di vista dell'installazione e può essere sospesa in molte posizioni differenti tramite l'uso dei 10 Punti di Sospensione (“Fly-points”) interni.
