MULTI and SPOT AE mode works only in Camera modes.

Use this function to adjust the exposure of the subject to obtain better results

MULTI AE meters the lighting condition of the overall image by metering the exposure on multiple points.

SPOT AE meters the lighting condition of a narrower area in order to have precise exposure control over a specific subject.

The METERING menu allows you to select between SPOT AE and MULTI AE for automatic exposure metering control.
1. Turn on your camera by setting the Power Switch to (CAMERA) mode.
2. Turn the Mode Dial to set to AUTO, SCENE, A, S, or M mode.
3. Press the MENU button.

The top menu including (METERING) is displayed.
4. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select (METERING) then press the DOWN button.

The available options of MULTI and SPOT is listed.
5. Select an option by pressing the DOWN or UP button.

The selected option is applied and corresponding indicator appears on the LCD monitor.
6. Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen.

You can apply your selection and exit the menu screen by pressing the OK button instead of MENU button.

Turning off the camera will reset the exposure metering to MULTI.
