Advanced Recording
You can take natural looking flash pictures with appropriate illumination using the built-in flash, whether they are night
scenes, in doors or in other dark places.
OFF : The flash does not fire.
(Auto): The flash comes on depending on the brightness of the subject.
(Flash on): The flash comes on regardless of the brightness of the subject.
(Red-eye reduction auto) : The flash pre-fires automatically before the main firing to reduce the red-eye
phenomenon.
FLASH SELECT
The FLASH SELECT function works in CAMERA and M.REC mode.
1. Set the camcorder to CAMERA mode.
2. Press the MENU button.
The menu list will appear
3. Move the MENU SELECTOR to highlight CAMERA and push the MENU SELECTOR.
4. Select FLASH SELECT from the submenu and push the MENU SELECTOR.
5. Using the MENU SELECTOR, Select the FLASH SELECT mode.
Push the MENU SELECTOR to confirm the FLASH SELECT mode.
6. To exit, press the MENU button.
Warning!
Do not fire the flash with the flash bulb covered with your hand.
Do not fire the flash close to people’s eyes.
Notes
While using the following functions, you cannot use the FLASH function:
- PROGRAM AE, SHUTTER SPEED, EXPOSURE, STROBE (DSE function), SLOW
SHUTTER, CONTINUOUS SHOT, MEMORY MIX
- When you are recording movies onto a tape.
If the flash is forced to fire (Flash on) in a bright location, the effect of flash photography may
sometimes not be obtained.
When (Red-eye reduction auto) is set, the flash fires twice-once to perform red-eye reduction
and the second flash main firing for taking the photograph. It takes about 1.5 second between the
flash firing for red-eye reduction and the main firing.
