5. The searched machine will be shown on the screen. Select one you wish
to use.
If the driver searched only one printer, the confirmation window
appears.
The program starts installation.
6. Afte
r the installation is finished, a window asking you to print a test page
appears. If you want to print a test page, click Print a test page.
Otherwise, just click Next and skip to step 7.
7. If t
he test page prints out correctly, click Yes.
If not, click No t
o reprint it.
8. To
register as a user of the machine in order to receive information from
Samsung, click On-line Registration. You are now registered to the
Samsung web site.
9. Click Finish.
• After the driver setup, you may enable firewalls.
• If your printer driver doesn’t work properly after setup has been
co
mpleted, repair or reinstall the printer driver. (See "Installing
USB connected machine’s driver" on page 33.)
Macintosh
1. Make sure that the machine is connected to your network and powered
on. Also, your machine’s IP address should have been set.
2. Insert the supplied software CD into your CD-ROM drive.
3. D
ouble-click the CD-ROM icon that appears on your Macintosh desktop.

ouble-click the MAC_Installer folder.
5. D
ouble-click the Installer OS X icon.
6. Ente
r the network key and click OK.
7. The
Samsung Installer window opens. Click Continue.
8. Sel
ect Easy Install and click Install. Easy Install is recommended for
most users. All components necessary for machine operations will be
installed.
If you select Custom Install, you can choose individual components to
install.
9. When the message which warns that all applications will close on your
computer appears, click Continue.
10. Sel
ect Typical installation for a network print and click OK.
The certificate window appears, click Trust. (See "Macintosh" on
page 84 to use Se
tIP program.)
11. Afte
r the installation is finished, click Quit.
12. Open the Applications folder > Utilities > Print Setup Utility.

or Mac OS X 10.5 ~ 10.6, open the Applications folder > System
Preferences and click Print & Fax.

ick Add on the Printer List.
• F
or Mac OS X 10.5 ~ 10.6, press the “+” icon; a display window will
pop up.
14. For Mac OS X 10.3, select the IP Printing tab.

or Mac OS X 10.4, click IP Printer.

or Mac OS X 10.5 ~ 10.6, click IP.

lect Socket/HP Jet Direct in Printer Type.
When printing a document containing many pages, printing performance
m
ay be enhanced by choosing Socket for Printer Type option.
16. Enter the machine’s IP address in the Printer Address field.
17. En
ter the queue name in the Queue Name field. If you cannot determine
the queue name for your machine server, try using the default queue
first.
18. For Mac OS X 10.3, if Auto Select does not work properly, select
Samsung in Printer Model and your machine name in Model Name.
• For Mac OS X 10.4, if Auto Select does not work properly, select
Samsung in Print Using and your machine name in Model.

or Mac OS X 10.5 ~ 10.6, if Auto Select does not work properly,
choose Select a driver to use...
and your machine name in Print

Your machine’s IP address appears on the Print
er List, and is set as
the default machine.

ick Add.
If the printer driver does not work properly, uninstall the driver and
reinstall it.
Follow steps below to uninstall the driver for Macintosh.
a) Make sure that the machine is connected to your computer and
powered on.
b) Insert the supplied software CD into your CD-ROM drive.
c) Double-click CD-ROM icon that appears on your Macintosh
de
sktop.
d) Double-click the MAC_Installer folder.
e) Double-click the Ins
taller OS X icon.
f) Enter the network key and click OK.
g) The Samsung Installer window opens. Click Cont
inue.
h) Select Un
install and click Uninstall.
i) When the message which warns that all applications will close on
y
our computer appears, click Continue.
j) When the uninstall is done, click Qu
it.
Linux
1. Make sure that the machine is connected to your network and powered
on. Also, your machine’s IP address should have been set.

nsert the supplied software CD into your CD-ROM drive.

ouble-click CD-ROM icon that appears on your Linux desktop.

ouble-click the Linux folder.

ouble-click the install.sh icon.

he Samsung Installer window opens. Click Continue.

he Add printer wizard window opens. Click Next.

lect Network printer and click Search button.

he Printer’s IP address and model name appears on list field.

lect your machine and click Next.
