Using the speaker
You can speak and listen to the phone from a short
distance without having to hold the phone to your ear,
for example, having it on a table nearby.
To use this feature, press the key during a call. A
icon appears on the bottom line of the screen.
To return to the normal phone mode, press the key
again. A icon appears on the bottom line of the
screen.
Note
: When you are in Speaker mode, the Voice Clarity
feature is automatically disabled.
Call waiting
You can answer an incoming call while you have a call in
progress, if your network supports this service and you
have set the
Call
waiting
menu (
Menu 9.5.3
) to
Activate
; see page 177. You are notified of an incoming
call by a call waiting tone.
To answer a call while you have a call in progress:
1. Press the key to answer the incoming call. The
first call is automatically put on hold.
2. To switch between the 2 calls, press the
Swap
soft
key.
3. To end the call on hold, press the
Options
soft key
and select the
End
held
call
option.
To end the current call, press the key.

Switching on or off the Voice Clarity
feature
You can increase the microphone’s sensitivity to allow
the other person on the phone to hear your voice even
though you may be whispering.
Note
: If you are using the Speaker feature, you must first
deactivate it in order to use the Voice Clarity feature.
To switch the Voice Clarity feature on:
1. Press the
Options
soft key.
2. Select the
Voice clarity on
option.
3. Press the
Select
soft key.
To switch the Voice Clarity feature off:
1. Press the
Options
soft key.
2. Select the
Voice clarity off
option.
