DRAFT Basics Battery Charging the battery Charge the battery before using it for the first time or when it has been unused for extended periods. O nl y Use only Samsung-approved chargers, batteries, and cables. Unapproved chargers or cables can cause the battery to explode or damage the device. • When the battery power is low, the battery icon appears empty. ov al • If the battery is completely discharged, the device cannot be turned on immediately when the charger is connected.

Any damage caused by misuse is not covered by the warranty. • The device can be used while it is charging, but it may take longer to fully charge the battery. • If the device receives an unstable power supply while charging, the touchscreen may not function. DRAFT Basics Fast charging The device has a built-in fast charging feature. You can use this feature to charge the battery more quickly while the device or its screen is turned off. About Fast charging nl y • Fast charging uses battery charging technology that charges the battery faster by increasing the charging power. The device supports Samsung’s Adaptive fast charging feature and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.
DRAFT Basics Wireless charging The device has a built-in wireless charging coil. You can charge the battery using a wireless charging pad (sold separately). 1 Place the centre of the device’s back on the centre of the charging pad. 2 After fully charging, disconnect the device from the charging pad. DRAFT Basics Transferring data from a mobile device Transfer data from your previous device to your new device. The following actions are an example of transferring data from your previous Android device. To import data from a mobile device with a different operating system, refer to the on-screen instructions. y When you turn on your new device for the first time, tap START in the Smart Switch installation pop-up window to install the app. nl 1 ov pr Ap Launch Smart Switch Mobile on both devices.

Handle the device carefully to avoid damaging the NFC antenna. O Using the NFC feature pr On the Settings screen, tap More → NFC, and then tap the switch to activate it.
DRAFT Settings Making payments with the NFC feature Before you can use the NFC feature to make payments, you must register for the mobile payment service. DRAFT Settings Connecting your device to a vehicle via MirrorLink When using this feature for the first time, connect the device to a Wi-Fi or mobile network. 1 Pair your device with a vehicle via Bluetooth. 2 Connect your device to the vehicle using a USB cable. y Refer to Pairing with other Bluetooth devices for more information. O nl When they are connected, access your device’s MirrorLink apps on the head unit monitor.

DRAFT Settings Motions & gestures Activate the motion recognition feature and change the settings that control motion recognition on your device. On the Settings screen, tap Motions & gestures. nl y Excessive shaking or impact on the device may result in unintended inputs. Control motions properly. O • Direct call: Set the device to make a voice call by picking up and holding the device near your ear while viewing call, message, or contact details.

On the Settings screen, tap Wallpaper. nl y Themes O Apply various themes to the device to change the visual elements of the Home screen, locked screen, and icons. al On the Settings screen, tap Themes. ov To download more themes, tap STORE. DRAFT Settings Fingerprint recognition In order for fingerprint recognition to function, your fingerprint information needs to be registered and stored in your device. After registering, you can set the device to use your fingerprint for the features below: • Screen lock y • Web sign-in nl • Verify Samsung account O • Pay with PayPal ov al This feature may not be available depending on the region or service provider.
DRAFT Settings Registering fingerprints On the Settings screen, tap Lock screen & security → Fingerprint → Add fingerprint. Place your finger on the Home key. pr Lift your finger when the device vibrates, and then place it on the Home key again. Repeat this action using the same finger until the fingerprint is registered. T, Enter the backup password again to verify it, and then tap OK. You can use the backup password instead of scanning your fingerprints.
DRAFT Settings Deleting fingerprints You can delete registered fingerprints using the fingerprint manager. On the Settings screen, tap Lock screen & security → Fingerprint. Scan a registered fingerprint, or tap and enter the backup password. nl y Tap EDIT. Tick fingerprints to deregister and tap DELETE.
