Layout The following picture shows the main elements of SPH-i330.
Power button : Press to turn the phone on / off. Contrast adjust button : Press to control the contrast of the display. Scroll button : Displays text and other information that extends beyond the area of the screen. Pressing the lower half of the scroll button scrolls down to view information below the viewing area, and pressing the upper half of the button scrolls up to view the information above the viewing area.
Opening applications You can open the four main applications - Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, and Memo Pad - with the application buttons on the front panel of your phone. You can also use the Application Launcher to open any application installed on your phone. Tap the icon of the application that you want to open. If you have may applications installed on your phone, to the scroll bar to see all of your applications. Using menus Menus on your phone are easy to use.
-Graffiti menu commands Most menu commands have an equivalent Graffiti command stroke, which is similar to the keyboard shortcuts used to execute commands on computers. Four ways to enter data - Using the onscreen keyboard - Using Graffiti writing - Entering or importing data in Palm Desktop software and then synchronizing with your phone.
Phone application Samsung phone gives you advanced phone capabilities. Open the phone screen by tapping the Phone icon in home screen. Making a call Key in the phone number by tapping the number digits in the Phone screen with the stylus and the Talk button to dial the number. Ending a call Tap the END button. Answering a call When somebody calls you, the phone rings. If the caller can be identified, the caller’s phone number(or name if prestored in your Address book) is displayed. To answer the call, tap any button on the Phone screen(except END). You can answer a call while using another application.
SMS Application Using the SMS Application When you are on the Phone Application, tap the Menu button and you can access the Messages menu and on the SMS Application, you can manage the category of SMS, Unfiled, Summary, Voicemail, Page/Text, Sent, Draft, Outbox, Web Alerts, or Edit Categories by tapping the category pick. Writing and Sending a Message You can write a new message on Page/Text or Sent category. When the Page/Text category selected, tap the New button to write a message.
Viewing/Sorting/Calling/Deleting (a) message(s) When you open the message application, you can see the list of messages. To change the category, tap the category pick. To sort the list, tap the Sort button. It’s available to sort by Date, To/From, Message, Type or Urgency To view the detail information of a message, tap on the message. When you see the detail information of the message, you can call to the sender by tapping the Call button, or delete the message by tapping the Delete button.
To Do List This is a convenient place to create reminders and prioritize the things that you have to do. Security Your phone comes with this application so that unauthorized users cannot view the entries you wish to protect. Lock and turn off your phone so that it does not operate until you enter the correct password. Make all records that you mark as private so the information appears greyed out. Hide all records that you mark as private so they do not appear on any screen.
Communications Mail Using your phone, you can read, reply to, compose, and delete e-mail from your desktop E-Mail application while you’re away form your desk. IR beaming The infrared port located at the top of your organizer lets you send data from your phone –including entire applications – to any other Palm Computing platform handheld that’s close by and also equipped with an IR port.
