Press the ANYKEY button to display the search screen in
the stop mode. \Vhen a program is n'conled, tile starting
point is given an Index mark for easy' location. However, the
VHS Index Seanh System (VISS) cannot recognize index
mark'; made by old VCRs. If tile VCR has trouble finding a
mark, it is probably because tile cassette was reconted on a
VCR without \qss. If you want to index two programs in a
royceset your VCR to stop, then start reconling eadl
program.
Go to [O:O0:OOlstop
Use this feature when you want to search for the
[0:00:00] counter position on a caaqette. Press tile
CLEAR button at tile point on the tape when- you
,a_ant to set the counter to [0:00:00].
\Vhile a cassette is stopped, pre_; the ANYKEY
button. Tile VCR ;','ill rev,'ind or fast forward,
searching for tile [0:00:001 counter position, and
then automatically stop at that position.

End search
Use this tcatulv ',',,'hen ycm ;','ant to search for a blank
position to record a program on a cassette. While a
cassette is stopped, press the ANYKEY button. The
VCR will t;ast to,yard, searching for a blank position,
and then automatically stop at that position. If the
VCR re,aches the end of the tape during end search,
the tape ;','ill be _'iected.

Scan and play
Use scan and play ;,,'hell you dont know exactly
where a program is located on a cassette tape.
- Forward lntro Scan
Highlight "Forward Intro Scan", then pn'ss the
ENTER hutton.
- Reverse lntro Scan
Highlight "Reverse Intro Scan", then prea', the
ENTER button.
