About Device
View information about your tablet, including status, legal information, hardware and software versions, and a
tutorial.
1. From a Home screen, tap Apps

2. Tap a setting to view details:
● Software update: Check availability and install updates.
● Status: View information about your tablet’s current status.
● Legal information: Display open source licenses, Google legal information, and Samsung legal information.
● Device name: View your tablet’s name. Touch to change the tablet’s name.
● Model number: View your tablet’s model number.
● Android version: View the firmware version of your tablet.
● Baseband version: View the baseband version of your tablet.
● Kernel version: View the kernel version of your tablet.
● Build number: View the build number of your tablet.
● SE for Android status: Displays the status of SELinux. SELinux is a set of security policies/modules which is
applied to the device to improve the overall security.
● Security software version: Displays the current security software version.
Software Update
The Software Update feature enables you to use your device to connect to the network and upload any new
software directly to your device. The device automatically updates with the latest available software when you
access this option. The following icons show your Bluetooth connection status at a glance:
Displays when the Software update feature is active.
Displays when the Software update feature is in progress.
To update your device:
1. From a Home screen, tap Apps

2. Read the Software update information screen.
3. Select an available option:
Note: You configure the device’s software update parameters.
● Cancel: Tap this option to cancel the operation.
● Wi-Fi settings: Enable this option to only download available updates via an active Wi‑Fi connection. If
disabled, the device will begin available downloads via its’ cellular connection.
● OK: Tap this option to connect to the remote server, detect if there is an available update, the begin the
download over your existing data connection.
— Software updates can include bug fixes, enhancements to services, to the device or currently installed
software.
