MAC address: view your phone’s MAC address, required when connecting to some
secured networks (not configurable).
IP address: view your phone’s IP address.
Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct allows phone-to-device connections so you can transfer large amounts of data over
a Wi-Fi connection.
Activate a Connection
1. Press and tap > Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Tap Wi-Fi Direct, located on the lower right side of the screen.
3. Tap an available device to set up a peer-to-peer connection over Wi-Fi. While in Wi-Fi
Direct mode, the status bar will display .
Note: The target device must also have Wi-Fi Direct service active and running before it can
be detected by your device.
Assign a Unique Name
1. Press and tap > Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Tap Wi-Fi Direct, located on the lower right side of the screen.
3. Tap > Rename device.
4. Modify the current name and then tap OK.
Hotspot Settings
Sprint Mobile Hotspot allows you to turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. The feature works best
when used in conjunction with 4G data services (although 3G service can also be used). See
4G Services for more information.
Set Up a Hotspot
1. Press and tap > Settings > Hotspot.
2. Tap the ON/OFF slider next to Hotspot to toggle Hotspot ON and activate the service.
When active, the Notifications area of the status bar shows Hotspot activated.
Important! Upon activation, any current Wi-Fi connection to an access point is terminated.
