Tethering & portable hotspot
The tethering and portable hotspot features allow you to share
your device’s mobile data network connection with other devices
via USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

USB tethering
Use USB tethering to share your device’s network connection
with another device that connects to your device via USB cable.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Apps
➔
Settings
➔
Wireless & networks
➔
Tethering &
portable hotspot

2. Connect the other device to your device via USB cable.
3. Touch
USB tethering
to turn tethering On or Off. When On, a
check appears in the checkbox.
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
Use portable hotspot to share your device’s mobile data network
connection with a PC or other device via Wi-Fi. For more
information about using your device as a portable hotspot, see
“Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot” on page 53.
Turning Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot On or Off
1. From the Home screen, touch

Tethering &
portable hotspot

2. Touch
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
to turn the hotspot On or Off.
When on, a check appears in the checkbox.
Note:
Using your device as a portable hotspot consumes battery power and
increases your data usage. Roaming while using your device as a
portable hotspot will incur extra data charges.
