Voice output
Configure options for reading out text via your device’s
speech synthesizer.
Text-to-speech settings
Configure voice output.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Apps ➔
Settings ➔ Language and input ➔ Text-to-speech
settings

2. Configure these options:
• Listen to example : If you have enabled a speech synthesizer,
play a brief sample of voice output.
• Always use my settings : When enabled, settings you make
override an application’s default settings.
• Default Engine : Choose a default speech synthesizer engine.
• Install voice data : Download and install voice data from
Android Market (free).
• Speech rate : Choose the speed at which text is spoken.
• Language : Choose a voice for spoken text.
• Samsung TTS : Configure the Samsung text-to-speech engine.
•Pico TTS : Configure the Pico text-to-speech engine.
Keyboard settings
Configure the keyboard to your preferences.
Current input method
Choose the default method for entering text.
1. From the Home screen, touch
Apps ➔
Settings ➔ Language and input ➔ Current input
method

2. Touch a default text entry mode.
Input method selector
Choose whether the selector for input methods displays in
the System bar when the cursor is in a text field.
