Dialing Emergency Numbers
When you call an Emergency Number, such as 911, your phone
locks itself in emergency mode, only allowing you to make calls
to the emergency call center you originally contacted. This
enables emergency operators to more easily dispatch aid, such
as police, fire fighting, and emergency medical personnel.
1. From a Home screen panel, touch Phone .The Keypad
screen appears in the display.
2. Enter 911 .
3. To place the call, touch .
Important!: Emergency number 911 is preset into your phone.
If you call 911, an Emergency Call prompt appears in the display
for the duration of the call.
In a crisis situation, you can aid emergency personnel in finding
you by setting
Emergency tone to Alert or Vibrate . (For more
information, refer to “Emergency tone” on page 111.)
Important!: Because of various transmission methods, network parameters,
and user settings necessary to complete a call from your
wireless phone, a connection cannot always be guaranteed.
Therefore, emergency calling may not be available on all
wireless networks at all times.
Important!: DO NOT depend on this phone as a primary method of calling
911 or for any other essential or emergency communications.
Note: You can specify other numbers than 911 as emergency numbers using
the Emergency # settings. (For more information, refer to “Emergency
Number” on page 108.)
Making Calls from Contacts
A contact is an entry that you have created to store the name,
numbers, and other information for people or groups of interest.
(For more information, refer to “Contacts” on page 43.)
1. From a Home screen, touch Contacts .
2. Find the contact and touch it to open the Contact entry.
3. Touch to dial the default number for the
Contact.
