Language Code List Setting the Language Enter the appropriate code number for the initial settings “Disc Audio”, “Disc Subtitle” and/or “Disc Menu” (See page 35). This ratio is called the aspect ratio. When playing DVDs recorded in different screen size, you should adjust the aspect ratio to fit your TV or monitor.

DVD Playback Mode AV SYNC Setup Some DVD-Audio discs contain DVD-Video as well as DVD-Audio. To play back the DVD-Video portion of the DVD-Audio disc, set the unit to DVD-Video mode. Video may look slower than the audio if it is connected with digital TV. Connecting Headphones/Microphone(option) You can connect a set of headphones to your micro component system so that you can listen to music or radio programmers without disturbing other people in the room. The earphones must have a 3.5ø jack or an appropriate adapter. Cautions on Handling and Storing Discs Small scratches on the disc may reduce sound and picture quality or cause breaks in playback. Be especially careful not to scratch discs when handling them.

Notes on Discs Disc Recording Format Notes on Terminology ANGLE CD-R Discs • Depending on the disc recording device (CD-Recorder or PC ) and the condition of the disc, some CD-R discs may not be playable. • Use a 650MB/74 minute CD-R. Avoid CD-R media, as they may not be playable. • If possible, do not use CD-RW (Rewritable) media, as they may not be playable. • Only the CD-Rs that are properly "closed" can be fully played.
