Operating the oven
Operating the oven
NOTE
• Always preheat the oven for the best performance.
• Use a 16”-less cookware for the best performance.
• Some water may remain in the tray after Steam Assist is complete. This is
normal.
• If all water evaporates, add the extra water in the same way as you start.
• For performance reasons, the convection fan may be turned on or off during
cooking.
• If you are using an oven thermometer in the oven cavity, the temperature
registered by the thermometer may differ from the actual set oven
temperature.
CAUTION
• Do not ll the steam tray past the MAX
level indicator (1½ cups) on the tray.
• Discard the remaining water after the
water and tray have cooled.
Using the steam assist feature
The Steam Assist feature provides additional moisture during baking.
The water in the steam tray generates steam in the oven cavity during the Steam
Assist cycle.
The Steam Assist feature can be used to prepare foods such as breads and sh and
also when you are reheating other foods.
2
For the best performance, place the steam
rack in the Level 2 rack position in the
cavity and pour 1 cup (250 ml) to 1½ cups
(350 ml) of water into the tray.
Steam Assist can be programmed to bake
at any temperature from 230 °F (110 °C) to
550 °F (285 °C). The default temperature is
350 °F (175 °C).
Fill the Steam tray and put it in place before you start preheating.
How to use the steam assist feature
1. Place the steam rack with the steam
tray in the Level 2 rack position in the
cavity.
2. Pour water between the wires of the
steam rack to ll the steam tray.
3. Press Steam Assist. The default
temperature is 350 °F.
4. Enter the temperature you want, eg.
400 °F, using the number pad.
5. Press START/SET to begin Steam Assist. Steam Assist and the adjusted oven
temperature, eg. 400 °F, will appear in the display for 2 seconds.
The temperature display will start to change once the oven temperature
reaches 175 °F. The range will beep several times when the oven reaches the
adjusted oven temperature.
6. To turn off or cancel steam assist, press OVEN OFF.
