Setting a User Password
Userscanstartthesystemwithauserpassword,but
cannotentertheSystemSetup.Bydoingthis,youcan
preventotherusersfromenteringSetup.
Beforeconguringauserpassword,asupervisor
passwordmusthavebeencongured.Deactivatingthe
supervisorpasswordalsodeactivatestheuserpassword.
In the Set User Password
item,press<Enter> and
completetheproceduresfromStep3ofSettinga
SupervisorPassword.
Setting up a Hard Disk Drive Password
(Optional)
AsupervisorpasswordmustbesetusingtheSet
SupervisorPasswordmenu.
Ifyousetapasswordforaharddiskdrive,itcannotbe
accessedfromanothercomputer.
PressEnterintheSet HDD Password
itemanddene
apasswordasdescribedinStep3oftheSettingupthe
SupervisorPassword.

Theharddiskdrivepasswordsettingfunctionis
notprovidedforsomemodels.
Caution
Changing the hard disk drive password
Forsecuritypurposes,youcanonlychangeahard
diskdrivepasswordafterrestartingthecomputer
bypressingthecomputerPower
button.
Ifyoucannotchangetheharddiskdrivepassword
or the HDD Password Frozen message appears
when
enteringtheBIOSSetupandthenselecting
Security > HDD Password,
pressthePower
buttontoturnthecomputeronagain.
Setting Up a Boot Password
Tosetupabootpassword,theadministratorpassword
(SetSupervisorPassword)shouldbesetinadvance.
Set the Password on boot item
toEnabled.Onceaboot
passwordisset,youhavetoenterapasswordtobootup
thecomputer.
Deactivating the Password

Press<Enter>onthepasswordtobedeactivated.
Forexample,todeactivateasupervisorpasswordin
the Set Supervisor Passworditem,press<Enter>.

In the Enter Current Passworditem,enterthe
currentlyconguredpasswordandpress<Enter>.

LeavetheEnter New Passworditemeldempty,
and press <Enter>.

LeavetheConrm New Passwordeldempty,and
press <Enter>.

In the [Setup Notice]window,press<Enter>.
Thepasswordisdeactivated.
