Using both DHCP and a xed IP
simultaneously
Using the Alternate Conguration, you can set both
automatic and xed IP addresses and then you can select
to use either of them to connect to the Internet.

For Windows 7
Click Start > Control Panel > Network and
Internet > Network and Sharing Center
and
click on Change adapter settings in the left
menu pane.
For Windows Vista

ick Start > Control Panel > Network and
Internet > Network and Sharing Center
and
click Manage Network Connections in the left
pane.
For Windows XP
Cl
ick Start > Control Panel > Network and
Internet Connections > Network Connection >
Local Area Connection
by using the right button
of the touch pad and click Properties.

Right-click over the Local Area Connection and
select Properties.

For Windows 7/Vista, select Internet Protocol
Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the Networking tab and
select Properties.
For Windows XP, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
and click Properties.

Select the Alternate Conguration tab, select User
congured, ll in the corresponding elds and click
the OK button.
