REMOVING THE REFRIGERATOR DOORS CAUTION When moving your refrigerator To prevent floor damage, be sure the front adjusting legs are in the up position (above the floor). Refer to “Leveling the Refrigerator” on page 14. Flat-blade screw driver (-) For some installations, you need to remove the fridge and freezer drawers so you can move the refrigerator to its final location. Do not remove the doors/drawer if you don’t need to.
3. Pull and remove the hinge lever ( 5 ). Remove the ground screw ( 6 ) attached to the upper left door hinges with a philips screwdriver (+). Remove the upper left and right door hinges ( 7 ). Required Tools (Not provided) You need the following tools to complete the installation of your refrigerator: (6) (5) Flat-blade screw driver (-) Pliers Allen wrench (3/16”) (5 mm) Socket wrench (13/32”) (10 mm) (7) setting up Philips screwdriver (+) 4. Lift the door straight up to remove.
REATTACHING THE REFRIGERATOR DOORS DISASSEMBLE THE FREEZER DRAWER To reattach the fridge doors after you have moved the fridge to its final location, assemble the parts in reverse order. 1. Take out the upper drawer by lifting it up. 1. The Water Line must be fully inserted into the center of the transparent coupler (Type A) or the Guide Lines (Type B) to prevent water leakage from the dispenser. Type A Type B 2. Remove the freeze room guard ( 1 ) by lifting the guard up.
5. Holding the top of the Freezer Drawer, pull it out all the way, and then remove it from the rail system. CAUTION Putting too much food into the freezer drawers can prevent the freezer from closing completely and can cause frost build-up. setting up CAUTION Be careful not to scratch or dent the sliding rail by letting it strike the floor. CAUTION Make sure that you mount the freezer basket in the right position when removing / installing the freezer door.
LEVELING THE REFRIGERATOR Make sure the refrigerator is level so that you can make final adjustments. Use a level to test if the refrigerator is level both side to side and back to front. If the refrigerator is not level, you will not be able to get the doors perfectly even, which may cause moisture condensation and increased energy bills. Below is an example of how to level the refrigerator if the left side of the refrigerator is lower than the right side.
INSTALLING THE WATER DISPENSER LINE Connecting to the water supply line Water line installation kits are available at extra cost from your dealer. We recommend using a water line installation kit that contains copper tubing and a ¼” compression nut. 2. Locate the nearest cold water drinking line and install the pipe clamp and shut off valve. Cold water line setting up A water dispenser with a filter is one of the helpful features on your new refrigerator.
Connecting the water supply line to the refrigerator There are several items that you need to purchase to complete this connection. You may find these items sold as a kit at your local hardware store.
COMPLETING THE SET UP Now that you have your new refrigerator installed in place, you are ready to set up and enjoy the features and functions of the appliance. By completing the following steps, your refrigerator should be fully operational. setting up 1. To set the Freezer temperature, touch the Freezer button. You can set the temperature between 5 °F (-15 °C) and -8 °F (-23 °C). (2) Alarm / Filter Reset (3sec) The Alarm button serves two purposes: -- To turn the door open alarm on and off -- To reset the water filter life indicator. 2. Water Filter Life Indicator Function After you replace the water filter, touch and hold this button for 3 seconds to reset the water filter life indicator. When you reset the water filter life indicator, the Filter icon on the panel turns Off.
( 6 ), ( 11 ) If you don’t want to make more ice, touch Ice Maker the Ice Maker Off button. The icon will light up and the Ice-Maker Off stops making ice. We recommend you to stop ice making if the following occur: -- There is enough ice in the ice bucket. -- You want to save water and energy. -- Water is not being supplied to the refrigerator. If the ice maker function is ON, and the water Line is not connected, there will be a water valve noise from the back of the unit.
CHANGING THE WATER FILTER (2) WARNING (3) To reduce risk of water damage to your property DO NOT use generic brands of water filters in your SAMSUNG Refrigerator. operating USE ONLY SAMSUNG BRAND WATER FILTERS. SAMSUNG is not legally responsible for any damage, including, but not limited to, property damage caused by water leakage from the use of a generic water filter. 3. Insert the new filter into the filter case ( 4 ).
Removing any residual matter inside the water supply line after installing the water filter. 1. Turn ON the the water supply if you turned it off when you installed the water filter. 2. Run water through the dispenser until the water runs clear (approx. 6 to 7 minutes). This will clean the water supply system and remove air from the lines. 3. Additional flushing may be required in some households. 4. Open the Refrigerator door and make sure there are no water leaks coming from the water filter.
CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE Keep in mind that foods such as ice cream may/ melt at 4 °F (or -15.5 °C). The temperature display will move sequentially from -8 °F to 5 °F (or from -23 °C to -15 °C). Basic temperature of Freezer and fridge compartments Controlling the fridge temperature RF28HFEDB* / RF28HFPDB* operating The basic and recommended temperatures of the Freezer and Fridge compartments are 0 °F and 37 °F (or -18 °C and 3 °C) respectively.
• The temperature of the Freezer or Fridge may rise when you open the doors too frequently, or if a large amount of warm or hot food is placed inside. • A rise in temperature may cause the digital display to blink. Once the Freezer and Fridge temperature return to their normal set temperatures, the blinking will stop. • If the blinking continues, you may need to “reset” the Refrigerator. Try unplugging the appliance, wait for around 10 minutes and then plug the power cord back in.
Ice Making If you use all the ice at once, you must repeat Steps 2 and 3 under Ice Making. However, only wait 8 hours before dispensing the first 4 to 6 ice cubes. This will replenish the ice cubes and ensure maximum ice production. To fill the ice bucket to maximum capacity after installation, follow these steps: CAUTION • To clean the ice bin/bucket, wash with a mild detergent, rinse well, and then dry it thoroughly. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Going on vacation... Water clouding phenomenon If you are going on a long vacation or business trip and won’t use the water or ice dispensers for a long time: • Close the water valve. Otherwise, water leakage may occur. • Remove all food and ice in the ice bucket. • Unplug the refrigerator. • Wipe excess moisture from inside and leave the doors open. Otherwise, odor and mold may develop.

USING THE COOL SELECT PANTRY™ The Pantry Selection Button The Cool Select Pantry™ is a full-width drawer with adjustable temperature control. This pantry can be used for large party trays, deli items, pizza, beverages, or miscellaneous items. There is a temperature control which can adjust the amount of cold air allowed into the pantry. The control is located on the right side of the pantry. • The Pantry has three modes: The Fresh mode, Chilled mode, and Deli mode. Fresh mode is the default.

Place the drawer onto the rails and slide the pantry back until it is in place. • Door Bins Before removing the drawer, please remove door bins first as below. To remove • Simply lift the bin up and pull straight out.
REMOVING THE FREEZER ACCESSORIES 1. Freezer Room Guard -- To remove : Remove the freezer room guard ( 1 ) by lifting the guard up. -- To relocate : Push down until the guard ( 1 ) locks into place. 4. Freezer Drawer -- To remove the freezer drawer : Pull the freezer drawer out fully. CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR Caring for your Samsung French Door Refrigerator prolongs the life of your appliance and helps keep the refrigerator free of odor and germs. CAUTION Do not use benzene, thinner, or Clorox for cleaning. They may damage the surface of the appliance and may cause a fire. Cleaning the Interior Clean the inside walls and accessories with a mild detergent and then wipe dry with a soft cloth. You can remove the drawers and shelves for a more thorough cleaning.
Cleaning the Rubber door seals If the rubber door seals are dirty, the doors may not close properly, and the refrigerator will not operate efficiently. Keep the door seals free of dust or stains by cleaning the doors with a mild detergent and damp cloth. Troubleshooting PROBLEM SOLUTION The refrigerator does not work at all or it does not chill sufficiently. • Check if the power plug is properly connected. • Check if the set temperature on the digital display is warmer than the freezer or fridge inner temperature. If it is, set the freezer or fridge to a colder temperature. • Is the refrigerator in direct sunlight or located near a heat source? If so, it may not be able to cool sufficiently.
SOLUTION Frost forms on the walls of the freezer. • Is the air vent blocked? Remove any obstructions so air can circulate freely. • Allow sufficient space between the stored foods for efficient air circulation. • Is the freezer drawer closed properly? If the freezer drawer is not completely closed or is blocked, humidity from outside may enter and cause severe frost to form. EXTRACCIÓN DE LAS PUERTAS DEL REFRIGERADOR PRECAUCIÓN Traslado del refrigerador Para prevenir daños al pavimento, ajuste las patas frontales en su posición más alta (sobre el suelo). Consulte “Ajuste del nivel” en la página 14. MONTAJE DE LAS PUERTAS DEL REFRIGERADOR DESMONTAJE DEL CAJÓN DEL CONGELADOR Para volver a montar las puertas del refrigerador una vez colocado este en su ubicación definitiva, siga el proceso contrario al del desmontaje. 1. Levante el cajón superior y sáquelo. 1. La tubería de agua debe estar totalmente insertada hasta el centro del acoplador transparente (tipo A) o las marcas de guía (tipo B) para evitar fugas del dispensador. Tipo A Tipo B 2.
5. Sujete el cajón del congelador por la parte superior, extráigalo completamente y retírelo del sistema de rieles. PRECAUCIÓN Si se ponen demasiados alimentos en los cajones del congelador es posible que la puerta no cierre completamente, lo que daría lugar a la creación de escarcha. Si la temperatura de los compartimentos del congelador y del refrigerador es demasiado alta o demasiado baja, ajústela manualmente.
• La temperatura del congelador y del refrigerador puede aumentar cuando las puertas se abren con demasiada frecuencia o cuando se guarda una gran cantidad de alimentos tibios o calientes. • Un aumento de la temperatura puede hacer que la pantalla parpadee. Turbiedad del agua Si tiene la intención de ausentarse por vacaciones o por trabajo y no va a utilizar los dispensadores de agua o hielo durante un tiempo: • Cierre la válvula de agua. USO DEL COOL SELECT PANTRY™ Botón de selección del cajón El Cool Select Pantry™ es un cajón de ancho completo que cuenta con un control de temperatura ajustable. Este cajón se puede utilizar para guardar bandejas grandes para fiestas, platos preparados, pizzas, bebidas, etc. Cuenta con un control de temperatura que puede ajustar la cantidad de aire frío que se permite en el interior. El control se encuentra en el lado derecho del cajón.
EXTRACCIÓN DE LOS ACCESORIOS DEL REFRIGERADOR Funcionamiento 1. Compartimentos de la puerta • Compartimentos de la puerta ( 1 ) -- Para extraer: levante el compartimento y tire de él. -- Para volver a instalar: deslícelo por encima de la posición deseada y empuje hacia abajo hasta el final. • Compartimentos de la puerta ( 2 ) -- Para extraer: quite el lado derecho del compartimento levantándolo en ángulo recto a lo largo de la guía y, a continuación, quite el lado izquierdo separándolo de la puerta.

RETIRER LES PORTES DU RÉFRIGÉRATEUR ATTENTION Déplacer le réfrigérateur Afin de ne pas détériorer le sol, assurez-vous que les pieds réglables avant sont relevés (au-dessus du sol). Reportez-vous à la section «Mise à niveau» en page 14). REMETTRE EN PLACE LES PORTES DU RÉFRIGÉRATEUR DÉMONTER LE TIROIR DU CONGÉLATEUR Pour remonter les portes du réfrigérateur après l'avoir déplacé jusqu'à son emplacement final, assemblez les pièces dans l'ordre inverse. 1. Soulevez le tiroir supérieur pour le retirer. 1. Le tuyau d'eau doit être inséré jusqu'au centre du coupleur transparent (Type A) ou jusqu'aux lignes de guidage (Type B) afin d'éviter toute fuite d'eau au niveau du distributeur. Type A 2.
5. Tout en maintenant la partie supérieure du tiroir du congélateur, sortez-le complètement, puis retirez-le du système de rail. ATTENTION Placer une quantité trop importante d’aliments dans les tiroirs du congélateur est susceptible d’empêcher la fermeture complète du congélateur et d’entraîner l’accumulation de givre. Installation ATTENTION Veillez à ne pas rayer ou endommager le rail de guidage en le laissant heurter le sol.
MISE À NIVEAU Assurez-vous que le réfrigérateur est de niveau afin de pouvoir procéder aux derniers réglages. Utilsez un niveau pour vérifier si le réfrigérateur est de niveau entre les côtés droit et gauche ainsi que d'arrière en avant. Si le réfrigérateur n'est pas de niveau, les portes risquent de ne pas être parfaitement alignées, ce qui peut provoquer de la condensation et une surconsommation.
INSTALLATION DU CIRCUIT DU DISTRIBUTEUR D'EAU Des trousses d'installation de conduite d'eau sont disponibles auprès de votre revendeur moyennant un supplément. Il est recommandé d'utiliser une trousse d'installation de conduite d'eau composée d'un tube en cuivre et d'un écrou de serrage 1/4 po (6,35 mm). 1. Coupez tout d'abord l'arrivée d'eau principale. 2. Localisez la conduite d'eau froide potable la plus proche et installez le collier de fixation puis le robinet de sectionnement.
Raccordement du tuyau d'arrivée d'eau au réfrigérateur Vous devez vous munir de plusieurs accessoires pour effectuer ce raccordement. Ces accessoires sont en vente sous forme de trousse dans votre quincaillerie locale.

REMPLACEMENT DU FILTRE À EAU (2) (3) AVERTISSEMENT Les réfrigérateurs SAMSUNG sont conçus pour fonctionner UNIQUEMENT avec des filtres à eau SAMSUNG. Le voyant Filter (Filtre) devient rouge lorsque la cartouche du filtre à eau a besoin d'être changée. Afin de vous laisser le temps de vous procurer un filtre neuf, le voyant rouge s'allume un peu avant que le filtre ne soit totalement usé. Remplacer le filtre à temps permet d'avoir toujours une eau fraîche et pure.  3.
Éliminer toute substance résiduelle présente à l'intérieur du tuyau d'arrivée d'eau après installation du filtre d'eau. 1. Ouvrez l'arrivée d'eau principale et laissez s'écouler l'eau depuis le tuyau d'arrivée. 2. Laissez l'eau couler par le distributeur jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit claire (environ 6 à 7 minutes). Cela permet de nettoyer le système d'arrivée d'eau et de faire sortir les bulles d'air des tuyaux. 3. Il peut s'avérer nécessaire de laisser l'eau s'écouler plus longtemps selon les installations. 4.
CONTRÔLE DE LA TEMPÉRATURE Bon à savoir : des aliments tels que la crème glacée peuvent commencer à fondre dès 4 °F (ou -15,5 °C). Les différentes températures défilent de -8 °F à 5 °F (ou de -23 °C à -15 °C). Température de base des compartiments congélateur et réfrigérateur Contrôle de la température du réfrigérateur Fonctionnement Les températures de base et qui sont recommandées pour les compartiments congélateur et réfrigérateur sont respectivement de 0 °F et 37 °F (ou -18 °C et 3 °C).
• La température du congélateur ou du réfrigérateur risque d'augmenter si vous ouvrez les portes trop fréquemment ou si une grande quantité d'aliments tièdes ou chauds est placée à l'intérieur. • Une augmentation de la température peut provoquer un clignotement de l'affichage numérique. Une fois la température du congélateur et du réfrigérateur revenue à la normale, l'affichage cesse de clignoter. • S'il continue à clignoter, il peut s'avérer nécessaire de « réinitialiser » le réfrigérateur.
Production de glaçons Si vous utilisez toute la glace en une seule fois, répétez les étapes 2 et 3 détaillées sur la page précédente. Vous devrez toutefois attendre 8 heures avant de faire tomber les 4 à 6 premiers glaçons. Cela permet de remplir le bac à glaçons et de garantir une production de glace optimale.
Si vous partez en vacances… Phénomène d’eau trouble Si vous devez vous absenter et que le distributeur d'eau et de glace restera inutilisé pendant une période prolongée : • Fermez la vanne d'arrivée d'eau afin d'éviter tout risque de fuite. • Videz le réfrigérateur et le bac à glace. • Débranchez le réfrigérateur. • Essuyez l'excédent d'humidité à l'intérieur et laissez les portes ouvertes. Dans le cas contraire, des odeurs et de la moisissure pourraient se développer.

UTILISATION DU TIROIR COOL SELECT PANTRY™ Le Cool Select Pantry™ est un tiroir pleine largeur doté d'un système réglable de contrôle de la température. À utiliser pour les grands plateaux de réception, les produits frais, les pizzas, les boissons et les aliments divers. Une commande thermique permet de régler la quantité d'air froid envoyée dans ce compartiment. La commande se situe du côté droit du compartiment. Bouton de sélection du mode 1.
RETRAIT DES ACCESSOIRES DU RÉFRIGÉRATEUR (1) (2) Fonctionnement 1. Bacs de la porte • Bacs de la porte ( 1 ) -- Pour les retirer : Soulevez légèrement les bacs et tirez horizontalement. -- Pour les remettre en place : Faites-les glisser au-dessus de l'emplacement souhaité et appuyez jusqu’au fond. • Bacs de la porte ( 2 ) -- Pour les retirer : Enlevez le côté droit du bac en le soulevant sur un angle le long de son guide, puis enlevez le côté gauche de la porte en le tirant.
3. Bacs à légumes et à fruits 4. Tiroir Cool Select PantryPLUS -- Pour retirer ce compartiment : ouvrez complètement le compartiment. Inclinez le côté avant du compartiment puis tirez dessus pour le sortir. -- Pour remettre le compartiment en place : poussez les rails vers l’arrière du réfrigérateur. Placez le tiroir sur les rails et faites glisser le compartiment jusqu’à ce qu’il soit en place.
RETRAIT DES ACCESSOIRES DU CONGÉLATEUR Fonctionnement 1. Barre de retenue du compartiment du congélateur -- Pour la retirer : retirez la barre de retenue du compartiment du congélateur ( 1 ) en la soulevant. -- Pour la remettre en place : poussez la barre vers le bas jusqu'à ce qu'elle ( 1 ) se verrouille en position. 4. Tiroir du congélateur -- Pour retirer le tiroir du congélateur : ouvrez le tiroir du congélateur à fond. Inclinez l’arrière du tiroir vers le haut et soulevez-le pour le retirer.
NETTOYAGE DU RÉFRIGÉRATEUR ATTENTION Un bon entretien de votre réfrigérateur à portes françaises Samsung prolongera sa durée de vie et évitera l'apparition de mauvaises odeurs et de germes. Nettoyage de la partie intérieure N’utilisez pas de benzène, de diluant ou d’eau de Javel pour le nettoyage. Ces produits risquent d’endommager la surface de l’appareil et de provoquer un incendie.
Nettoyage des joints des portes en caoutchouc  Fonctionnement Si les joints des portes en caoutchouc sont sales, les portes risquent de ne plus se fermer correctement et le fonctionnement du réfrigérateur ne sera plus optimal. Maintenez les joints des portes propres en les nettoyant à l'aide d'un produit de nettoyage doux et d'un chiffon humide. Séchez avec un tissu propre et doux. ATTENTION Ne nettoyez pas le réfrigérateur à l'aide de benzène, de diluant ni de nettoyant pour voiture.

Dépannage PROBLÈME SOLUTION Le réfrigérateur ne fonctionne pas du tout ou ne refroidit pas suffisamment. • Vérifiez si la fiche du cordon d'alimentation est correctement branchée. • Vérifiez si la température affichée à l'écran est plus élevée que celle à l'intérieur du congélateur ou du réfrigérateur. Si cela est le cas, réglez le congélateur ou le réfrigérateur sur une température inférieure.
SOLUTION Le réfrigérateur dégage une odeur désagréable. • Vérifiez qu'il n'y a pas d'aliments gâtés. • Les aliments ayant une forte odeur (le poisson, par exemple) doivent être hermétiquement emballés. • Nettoyez régulièrement le congélateur et jetez tout aliment périmé. Lors du nettoyage de l'intérieur du réfrigérateur, débranchez-le et stockez les aliments ailleurs. Essuyez avec un chiffon sec après 2-3 heures, puis laissez l'air circuler à l'intérieur du réfrigérateur.
