Do not keep vegetable oil in your refrigerator’s door bins. The oil can solidify, making it foul-tasting and difficult to use.

Additional tips for proper usage • • • • • Safety information • In the event of a power failure, call the local office of your electric company and ask how long the failure is going to last. - Most power failures that are corrected in an hour or two will not affect your refrigerator temperatures. However, you should minimize the number of door openings while the power is off. - Should the power failure last more than 24 hours, remove and discard all frozen food.
Installation Follow these instructions carefully to ensure the proper installation of this refrigerator and to prevent accidents before using it. Step-by-step installation STEP 1 Select a site Select a site that: • Has a solid, level surface without carpeting or flooring that may obstruct ventilation • Is away from direct sunlight • Has adequate room for opening and closing the door • Is away from any heat sources • Provides room for maintenance and servicing • Has a temperature range between 50 °F (10 °C) and 109 °F (43 °C) Installation English Untitled-5 15 2017-07-20 15 6:30:54

STEP 2 Flooring • • • The surface you install the refrigerator on must support a fully loaded refrigerator. (Approximately 200 lb or 90 kg.) To protect the floor, put a large piece of cardboard along the path to the refrigerator's final installation location. Once the refrigerator is in its final position, do not move it unless necessary to protect the floor. If you have to move the refrigerator, place thick paper or cloth such as old carpets along the path of movement.
Installation STEP 4 Connect the water line (optional) Connect the water line to the ice maker. For the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of 20-125 psi is required. After you have connected the water line, make sure the water storage tank inside the refrigerator is properly filled. CAUTION Installation Do not reuse an old hose set. Use the new hose sets supplied with your refrigerator only. • The water line installation is not covered by the Warranty of this product.
To assemble the water line installation kit 1. Shut off the main water source. 2. Insert the pipe clamp (B) and the shutoff valve (C) into the cold water line (A). A B C 3. Installing a Water Filter (optional) The water filter and the water filter installation kit containing necessary parts illustrated in this section are not provided. You must purchase the water filter and the water filter installation kit at a local hardware store.

Connect the plastic line from the rear of the refrigerator to the outlet of the cartridge holder until the plastic line is fully inserted. 2. STEP 5 Unpack and put accessories in place The accessories that ship with this refrigerator are properly packed for transportation and safety reasons. Unpack those accessories and put them in place. Door guards There are four door guards provided with the product. Insert two door guards each to the freezer and the fridge.
Installation STEP 6 Install the Auto Ice Maker (optional) To purchase a new auto ice maker (part type : RA-TIMO63PP/AA), visit the Samsung website (www.samsung.com) or contact your retailer.
To install the ice maker kit WARNING To prevent electrical shock, make sure the refrigerator is turned off before installation. 1. See the figure on the left, and then locate the cover on the inner upper corner of the main unit. Installation 2. Remove the screws (x2) from the cover, and then remove the cover by pulling it to the front. 3. Connect the wire connector of the ice maker to the socket (marked in the figure) on the main unit. Make sure the connector is fully inserted to prevent system failure.
Installation 5. Tighten the provided screws (x2) to attach the ice maker firmly to the refrigerator. - Make sure the screw holes are aligned with each other before tightening the screws. Installation A 6. Put the ice bucket on the shelf as shown. By design, the ice bucket is supposed to sit behind the ice maker. Otherwise, the ice cubes from the ice maker will not collect in the bucket as intended. 7.
STEP 7 Initial settings By completing the following steps, the refrigerator should be fully functioning. 1. Plug the power cord into the wall socket to turn the refrigerator on. 2. Open the door, and check if the interior light lights up. 3. Set the temperature to the coldest setting, and wait for about an hour. Then, the freezer should be slightly chilled, and the motor should be running smoothly. 4. Wait until the refrigerator reaches the set temperature. The refrigerator is now ready for use.

01 Power Freeze / Ice Maker (applicable models only) Power Freeze Power Freeze speeds up the freezing process at maximum fan speed. The freezer keeps running at full speed for several hours and then returns to the previous temperature. • To activate Power Freeze, press and hold Power Freeze for 3 seconds (Type A), or press and release Power Freeze within 3 seconds (Type B). The corresponding indicator ( ) lights up, and the refrigerator will speed up the freezing process for you.
Operations Freezer Convert Operations You can use the freezer as a freezer only, set the entire refrigerator including the freezer to Fridge mode, or turn off the freezer. To change the default freezer mode, press and hold Freezer Convert for 3 seconds to enter the selection mode. Then, press Freezer Convert to select a desired mode. The mode changes in this sequence: Fridge Off Freezer, then back to Fridge. • If you select Fridge, the fridge indicator turns on.
• Make sure to remove chilled foods from the freezer before using Freezer Convert to change the freezer to Freezer mode. Chilled foods may freeze as the temperature decreases. NOTE If you want to use Freezer Convert, we strongly recommend that you use plastic containers to store food, especially vegetables. 03 Fridge / Fridge On/Off (3 sec) To adjust the fridge temperature, press Fridge to select the corresponding temperature. Fridge CAUTION • • In winter, do not set the temperature control to Coldest.
Operations Cooling Off mode North American (US, Canada) Models Only Cooling Off mode (also called Shop mode), is designed for use by retailers when they are displaying refrigerators on the shop floor. In Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator’s fan motor and lights work normally, but the compressors do not run, and the refrigerator and freezer do not get cold. • To start Cooling Off mode, press and hold Power Freeze, Freezer and Fridge simultaneously for 5 seconds during normal operation.
Special features Your refrigerator and its special functions may differ from the images and functions presented in this section depending on your model and country. Ice making (applicable models only) Twist ice maker 1. Open the freezer door, and slide open the ice tray. 2. Fill the tray with water up to the maximum level (A) marked on the inner rear of the tray. 3. Slide the tray back into position. NOTE A The ice making time depends on your temperature settings.
Operations Auto ice maker (applicable models only) For first-time use • • • Let the ice maker make ice for 1-2 days. Discard the first 1-2 buckets of ice to remove impurities in the water supply system. When the upper ice tray is full, use the lower ice tray. If the auto ice maker does not make ice, remove the ice bucket and press Test Switch (A) to check if the auto ice maker operates properly.
Maintenance Door reversal (applicable models only) WARNING • As door reversal process requires tilting/laying the refrigerator on its side, empty the fridge and icemaker and secure the doors before attempting the process. Tilting/laying the refrigerator requires minimum of 2 people. Disconnect power source and water line before reversing the doors. To facilitate the door reversal process, you will need to lay the refrigerator down.
Maintenance Step-by-step instructions STEP 1 Remove the doors 1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws (x3) in three holes on the top table. Then, gently pull out the top table. 2. Decouple the wire connectors. 3. Loosen the bolts on the top hinge. Maintenance 4. Gently lift up the freezer door to remove it.
5. Use the screwdriver and the wrench to loosen the bolts and remove the middle hinge. 6. Gently slide the fridge door out of the hinge shaft, and then pull up to remove.
Maintenance STEP 2 Remove the hinges and shafts To facilitate the reversing process, gently lay the refrigerator down on a flat floor covered by a cushion or rug. 1. Use the screwdriver to remove the bottom hinge. 2. Remove the levelling leg on the opposite side by turning it counterclockwise. Maintenance 3. Remove the levelling leg from the bottom hinge by turning it counter clockwise.
4. Use the screwdriver to remove the hinge bolt. Then, use the wrench to remove the door shaft, and then the leg bolt with the spring washer. 5. Detach the hinge shim manually, which has been attached using double-sided tape. Turn the bottom hinge over, and then reattach the hinge shim to the opposite side.
Maintenance STEP 3 Reverse the auto closer (freezer door only) Now stand the refrigerator back upright with care, and then do the following. 1. Remove the auto closer and the stopper from the bottom of the fridge door. Then, reinsert them on the opposite side of the fridge door as shown. 2. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the hinge grommet. 3. Reinsert the hinge grommet on the opposite side.
STEP 4 Reverse the bar cover and the top hinge 1. Pull up to remove the bar cover on the top of the freezer door. 2. Remove the top hinge with its cover. 3. Separate the top hinge from the hinge cover. Maintenance 4. Arrange the door wire in the hinge cover.
Maintenance 5. Remove the cap spacer, and then reinsert it on the opposite side. 6. Remove the door shaft from the top hinge, flip it 180 degrees as shown, and then reinsert it .
STEP 5 Reattach the doors on the opposite side 1. Use a flat-heat screwdriver to remove the middle-hinge screw cap, and then reinsert it on the opposite side. 2. Use the flat-heat screwdriver to remove the flange-screw cap to reveal the flange screw. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the flange screw, and then tighten it on the opposite side. Finally, close the flange-screw cap on the opposite side. 3.
Maintenance 4. Reverse the middle hinge and insert it on the opposite side. Then, tighten the hinge with the screws. 5. Use the flat-head screwdriver to remove both the hinge grommet on one side and the hinge-hole cap on the other side. Reinsert them on their respective opposite side. 6. Gently slide the fridge door into the correction position so that it fits. Maintenance 7. Gently slide the freezer door into the correction position so that it fits.
STEP 6 Reverse the shaft and the leg 1. Reverse the bottom hinge, insert the door shaft into it, and then tighten the door shaft. 2. Insert the hinge bolt and the spring washer, and then the leg bolt into the bottom hinge. Then, tighten them by turning them clockwise. Maintenance 3. Insert the hinge-side levelling leg, and then tighten it by turning it clockwise.
Maintenance 4. Insert the bottom hinge in the opposite side, and then tighten it. 5. Insert and tighten the other levelling leg by turning it clockwise.
STEP 7 Reattach the remaining parts 1. Insert and tighten the top hinge on the opposite side. 2. Detach the hinge cover manually from the top table. 3. Arrange the door wire in the hinge cover before placing the hinge cover onto the top hinge.
Maintenance 4. Connect the wire connectors. 5. Remove the hinge hole cap from the top table, and then reinsert it on the opposite side. Maintenance 6. Insert the top table, and then fix it firmly to the refrigerator using the screws (x3).
7. Insert the bar cover. 8. Remove the fridge door and freezer door gaskets. Turn them clockwise by 180 degrees, and then reattach them. NOTE In the future, you might want to return the doors to their initial position (before the doors were reversed). In that case, refer to the instructions on the previous pages, but switch the doors, hinges, and covers back to their initial positions.
Maintenance Handle and care Shelves (fridge/freezer) To remove the shelf, hold it with both hands and lift to release from the rear hooks. Then, pull it halfway to the front. Fresh room Slide out the sliding shelf of the Fresh room. Maintenance Vegetable drawers Gently lift up the front of the drawer, and then slide it out.
Vegetable shelf 1. Gently lift up the front of the drawer, and then slide it out. 2. Hold the vegetable shelf with both hands, and then slide it out. Door shelves Maintenance Lift up the door shelf slightly, and then pull it out . CAUTION To prevent accidents, empty the door guards before removing.
Maintenance Cleaning Regularly use a dry cloth to remove all foreign substances such as dust or water from the power plug terminals and contact points. 1. Unplug the power cord of the refrigerator. 2. Use a moistened, soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel to clean the refrigerator’s interior and exterior. 3. When done, use a dry cloth or paper towel to dry the refrigerator well. 4. Plug in the power cord of the refrigerator to turn the refrigerator on.
Troubleshooting If you encounter a problem with the refrigerator, first check the tables starting below, and then try the suggested solutions. If none of the suggested solutions resolve your problem, please visit our website at www.samsung.com or call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864). General Temperature Symptom Fridge/freezer does not operate. Fridge/freezer temperature is warm. Fridge/freezer is over-cooling. • Power cord is not plugged in properly.
Troubleshooting Odors Symptom Refrigerator has odors. Possible causes • Spoiled food. • Food with strong odors. Solution • Clean the refrigerator and remove any spoiled food. • Make sure strong smelling food is wrapped airtight. • Make sure no food blocks the refrigerator vents. • Make sure food does not block the door. Clean the door gasket. • The Fresh/Chef Zone is only for meat/fish. Frost Symptom Possible causes Frost around the vents. • Food is blocking the vents.
Auto Ice Maker Symptom Possible causes • The freezer room is not cold enough. • The ice maker is turned off. • The wire connector of the ice maker is not connected properly. • The water line flowing to the ice maker is bent or kinked. The ice maker does not produce ice. Solution • Make sure the cold air outlet is not clogged. • Make sure the ice maker is turned on. Press and hold Power Freeze for 3 seconds, and check if the corresponding indicator turns on.
Troubleshooting Do you hear abnormal sounds from the refrigerator? Before calling for service, review the information below. Note that you will be charged for any service calls related to normal operating sounds in which no defects were found. If you have any questions about sounds your refrigerator is making, please call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864). These sounds are normal. • When starting or ending an operation, the refrigerator may make sounds similar to a car engine ignition.
• During a defrost cycle, water may drip on the defrost heater, causing sizzling sounds. HiSS! • As the refrigerator cools or freezes, refrigerant gas moves through sealed pipes, causing bubbling sounds. Bubbling! • As the refrigerator temperature increases or decreases, plastic parts contract and expand, creating knocking noises. These noises occur during the defrosting cycle or when electronic parts are working.

PASO 2 Piso • • • La superficie sobre la que se instalará el refrigerador debe soportar un refrigerador completamente cargado o aproximadamente 90 kg. ÉTAPE 2 Sol • • • La surface d'installation du réfrigérateur doit supporter le poids d'un réfrigérateur plein, soit environ 90 kg. Afin de protéger le sol, placez un grand carton jusqu'à l'endroit où vous souhaitez installer le réfrigérateur. Lorsque le réfrigérateur se trouve dans sa position finale, ne le déplacez plus sauf si cela est nécessaire pour protéger le sol.

Opérations 02 Congélateur / Conversion réfrigérateur/congélateur (3 s) Le bouton Freezer (Congélateur) permet de régler la température du congélateur. Freezer Convert (Conversion réfrigérateur/ congélateur) Opérations Vous pouvez utiliser le congélateur comme congélateur uniquement, régler le réfrigérateur entier, y compris le congélateur, sur le mode Réfrigérateur, ou éteindre le congélateur. Maintenance ÉTAPE 2 Retirer les charnières et les arbres Pour faciliter le processus d'inversion, posez délicatement le réfrigérateur sur un sol plat, recouvert d'une couverture ou d'une protection amortissante. 1. Utilisez un tournevis pour retirer la charnière inférieure. 2. Retirez le pied de mise à niveau sur le côté opposé en le tournant dans le sens antihoraire. 3. Retirez le pied de mise à niveau au niveau de la charnière inférieure en le tournant dans le sens antihoraire.
4. Utilisez un tournevis pour retirer le boulon de la charnière. Ensuite, utilisez la clé pour retirer l'axe de la porte puis le boulon du pied avec la rondelle élastique. 5. Détachez manuellement la cale de la charnière qui a été fixée à l'aide de ruban adhésif double face. Retournez la charnière inférieure, puis rattachez la cale de la charnière sur le côté opposé.
Maintenance ÉTAPE 3 Inverser la fermeture automatique (porte du réfrigérateur uniquement) Redressez délicatement le réfrigérateur et suivez la procédure ci-dessous. 1. Retirez la fermeture automatique et la butée de la partie inférieure de la porte du réfrigérateur. Réinsérez-les ensuite du côté opposé de la porte du réfrigérateur, comme indiqué. 2. Utilisez un tournevis à tête plate pour retirer l'œillet de la charnière. 3. Réinsérez l'œillet de la charnière sur le côté opposé.
ÉTAPE 4 Inverser le cache de la barre et la charnière supérieure 1. Tirez le cache de la barre vers le haut pour la retirer au-dessus de la porte du congélateur. 2. Retirez la charnière supérieure et son cache. 3. Séparez la charnière supérieure du cache de la charnière. Maintenance 4. Disposez correctement le câble de la porte à l'intérieur du cache de la charnière.
Maintenance 5. Retirez l'entretoise du cache puis réinsérez-la sur le côté opposé. 6. Retirez l'arbre de la porte de la charnière supérieure, tournez-la à 180° comme indiqué, puis réinsérez-le.
ÉTAPE 5 Fixer les portes sur le côté opposé 1. Utilisez un tournevis à tête plate pour retirer le cache de vis de la charnière centrale, puis réinsérez ce dernier sur le côté opposé. 2. Utilisez le tournevis à tête plate pour retirer le cache de vis de la bride afin de révéler la vis de la bride. Utilisez un tournevis cruciforme pour retirer la vis de la bride, puis réinsérez cette dernière sur le côté opposé. Pour finir, fermez le cache de vis de la bride sur le côté opposé. 3.
Maintenance 4. Retournez la charnière centrale et insérez-la sur le côté opposé. Puis, serrez la charnière avec les vis. 5. Utilisez le tournevis à tête plate pour retirer à la fois l'anneau de l'œillet d'un côté et le cache du trou de la charnière de l'autre côté. Réinsérez-les sur leur côté opposé respectif. 6. Faites coulisser délicatement la porte du réfrigérateur de manière à ce qu'elle soit dans la bonne position. Maintenance 7.
ÉTAPE 6 Inverser l'arbre et le pied 1. Retournez la charnière inférieure, insérez l'arbre de la porte dans celle-ci, puis serrez l'arbre de la porte. 2. Insérez le boulon de la charnière et la rondelle élastique puis le boulon du pied dans la charnière inférieure. Ensuite, serrez-les en les tournant dans le sens horaire. Maintenance 3. Insérez le pied de mise à niveau côté charnière puis serrez-le en le tournant dans le sens horaire.
Maintenance 4. Insérez la charnière inférieure du côté opposé puis serrez-la. 5. Insérez et serrez l'autre pied de mise à niveau en le tournant dans le sens horaire.
ÉTAPE 7 Refixer les pièces restantes 1. Insérez et serrez la charnière supérieure sur le côté opposé. 2. Détachez le cache de la charnière manuellement au niveau de la plaque supérieure. 3. Disposez correctement le câble de la porte à l'intérieur du cache de la charnière avant de placer le cache de la charnière sur la charnière supérieure.
Maintenance 4. Branchez les serre-fils. 5. Retirez le cache de l'orifice de la charnière de la plaque supérieure, puis réinsérez-le sur le côté opposé. Maintenance 6. Insérez la plaque supérieure puis fixez-la au réfrigérateur à l'aide des vis (x3).
7. Insérez le cache de la barre. 8. Retirez les joints de la porte du réfrigérateur et de la porte du congélateur. Tournez-les de 180° dans le sens horaire, puis réinstallez-les. REMARQUE Par le futur, il se peut que vous souhaitiez réinstaller les portes dans leur position initiale (avant que les portes aient été inversées). Dans ce cas, suivez les instructions des pages précédentes en remettant les portes, les charnières et les caches dans leur position initiale.
