Format
Use this function if you want to delete all files completely or to correct problems on the storage media.
After formatting, the speed of the storage media becomes more stable. Howew_r, ensure that formatting can
delete all files on the storage media including protected files and all settings can be restored.
1. Press the MENU button _ Control joystick (,/_) _ "Settings" _ [_;__-_ '_

2. Select the desired storage media with the Control joystick (A/T) __ °

3. A message appears asking for your confirmation.
• Select "Yes" using the Control joystick ('q/_/OK).
4. Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

power) during formatting, Also, be sure to use the provided AC adapter, as the recording medium
may be corrupted if the battery becomes exhausted during formatting.

Make sure to format the storage media on this camcorder.
• Format the memory card in the following cases:
before using a new memory card
a memory card formalted/recerded on other devices
when this camcorder cannot read the memory card
• A memory card with the protection tab set to lock will not be formatted.
• Ifthere is no storage media inserted, it can not be selected and will be dimmed in the menu,
• You cannot format when the baltery power is insufficient, it is recommended to use the AC power
adaptor to avoid power-loss while fermalting.
