Discs Please use CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs bearing the “DIGITAL AUDIO” logo. CD CD-R CD-RW This unit CANNOT RECORD CD-R and CD-RW discs designed for computer systems. < Should the disc become dirty, wipe the surface radially (from the center hole outward towards the outer edge) with a soft, dry cloth: < Never use such chemicals as record sprays, antistatic sprays or fluid, benzine or thinner to clean the discs. Such chemicals will do irreparable damage to the disc’s plastic surface.
Remote Control Unit About CD-R and CD-RW discs CD-R discs can be recorded once only. Once they have been used for recording, they cannot be erased or re-recorded. However, if space is available on the disc (and the disc has not been finalized), additional material can be recorded. By contrast, a CD-RW disc can be used in much the same way as a CD-R disc, but the last track or tracks recorded can be erased, and the space on the disc can be re- used for other recordings.

A POWER Press this button to turn the unit standby or off. The equipment draws a nominal amount of power from the AC outlet even with its POWER switch in the OFF position. B Display C Disc Tray Q Remote Sensor When operating the remote control unit, point it towards the REMOTE SENSOR. A STANDBY/ON When the POWER switch of the main unit is depressed, use this button to turn the unit on or standby. B Numeric buttons Use these buttons to select track numbers.
Listening to a CD 4 3 6 5 5 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (L) to close the tray. 1 1 Press the POWER switch. The unit enters standby mode, and “STAND-BY” lights on the display. < It takes a few seconds for the unit to load the disc. No buttons will work during loading. Wait until the total number of the tracks and the total play time of the disc are displayed. disc type indicator 2 Press the STANDBY/ON button of the remote control unit to turn the unit on.
Standby mode When the POWER switch of the main unit is depressed, use this button to turn the unit on or standby. OPEN/CLOSE, PLAY, STOP To suspend playback temporarily (pause mode) During playback, repeatedly press the MUSIC SKIP button (.or/) until the desired track is found. The selected track will be played from the beginning. In the stop mode, press the SKIP button (.
Direct Playback Time Display While in stop or playback mode, you can use the numeric buttons of the remote control unit to select a track. Each time the TIME button is pressed, the display changes as follows: Press the numeric buttons to select a track. Playback starts from the selected track. CD/CD-R/CD-RW playback To play tracks 1 through 9, simply press the appropriate button (1 through 9).
Repeat Playback Each time the REPEAT button is pressed, the repeat mode is changed as follows: REPEAT ALL REPEAT 1 A-B Repeat To repeat a designated section Please note that CD-R/CD-RW discs that haven't been finalized cannot be used for A-B repeat. (off) REPEAT 1 (Repeat one track) Press the REPEAT button twice during playback. The track being played will be played repeatedly. If you press the MUSIC SKIP button and select another track, the track you selected will be played repeatedly. 2.
Programmed Playback Up to 32 tracks can be programmed in the desired order. 3 When the selection of track numbers has been finished, press the PLAY button (y) to start program playback. < Insert a disc before beginning programming. < Shuffle playback does not work during programmed playback. < Programmed playback works with finalized discs only. 1 Press the PROGRAM button in the stop mode. “PROGRAM” indicator blinks, and “0P00” appears on the display. 2 Press the numeric button to select a track.
Before Recording To check the programmed order In the stop mode, press the PROGRAM CHECK button repeatedly to show the track numbers that have been stored in memory. Before you start recording, make sure that you understand the following points: < The unit requires Digital Audio CD-R or CD-RW media for recording. Computer CD-R or CD-RW discs do not work with this unit. < Once you have recorded on a CD-R disc, the data cannot be erased from it.
Recording 1 6 4 4 Press the RECORD button. 3 2 5 and J indicators on the display will light, and the unit enters record pause mode. 1 Load a recordable CD-R or CD-RW disc into the unit. < No button will work while “WAITING” is displayed. Wait a few seconds until “WAITING” disappears from the display. When DIGITAL is selected in step 2 , the sampling frequency of the digital source (“FS 44_1K”, “FS 48K” or “ FS 32K”) briefly appears after “WAITING”.
Manual track division 6 Press the PLAY or the PAUSE button to start recording. It is possible to divide the recording into tracks while recording. While recording is taking place, press the RECORD button. The current track number will be incremented by one. 7 Play the source to be recorded. When the playback of the source has been finished, press the STOP button to stop recording. < The STANDBY/ON button doesn’t work during recording.
Automatic Track Division A .TRACK (–60, –50, –40 or –30 dB) When recording digitally, the unit will automatically insert a track division in the recorded material when an increment signal is detected. When the AUTO/MANUAL button is pressed once, the current mode is displayed. Press the AUTO/MANUAL button repeatedly to select any other mode. A.TRACK (–60 dB) A.TRACK (–50 dB) A.TRACK (–40 dB) A.TRACK (–30 dB) MANUAL < The “A . TRACK” indicator lights when –60dB, –50dB, –40dB or –30dB is selected.
Synchronous Recording Synchronous recording means that recording will begin automatically when a signal is received, and will stop when the signal ends. 2 Press the RECORD button.
Finalize 1 3 3 Press the PLAY (y) button to start finalizing. 2 This section deals with the actions taken after recording. Once finalized, CD-R discs are truly final. No more tracks can be recorded on them. By contrast, CD-RW discs can be “unfinalized”, and if there is space, further material can be recorded on them. Finalizing As has been explained earlier, in order for a disc to become a standard CD, it must have a Table of Contents (TOC) written to it. This process is known as finalizing.
Erase or Unfinalize a CD-RW 1 3 2 Press the ERASE button in the stop mode. 2 “UNFINALIZE” appears when a finalized disc is loaded. It is possible to erase the last recorded tracks. It is not, however, possible to erase tracks in the “middle” of the disc. It is also possible to erase a whole disc. Erase procedures are possible only on an unfinallized CD-RW disc. If a CD-RW disc has been finalized, unfinalize it prior to erasure.
Troubleshooting If you experience any problems with the unit, please take a moment to look through this chart and see if you can solve the problem yourself before you call your dealer or a TEAC service center. No power e Check the connection to the AC power source. Check and make sure the AC source is not a switched outlet and if it is, the switch is turned on. Make sure there is power to the AC outlet by plugging another item such as a lamp or fan. No sound. e Adjust the volume. The sound is noisy.

Écoute de CD 4 3 6 5 5 Appuyez sur la touche OPEN/CLOSE (L) pour fermer le tiroir. 1 1 Appuyez sur l’interrupteur POWER. L’appareil passe en mode veille et ”STAND-BY” est affiché. < Ça prend quelque secondes pour que l’appareil lit le disque. Aucune touche fonctionne durant le chargement. Attendre jusqu’à temps que le nombre total de pistes ainsi que la durée totale de lecture du disque sont affichés.
Mode veille Pour sauter au morceau suivant ou précédant Lorsque l’interrupteur POWER de l’unité centrale est enfoncé, cette touche permet de mettre l’appareil sous tension ou en veille. En lecture, pressez la touche MUSIC SKIP (. ou/ ) plusieurs fois jusqu’à ce que le morceau désiré soit atteint. Le morceau sélectionné sera joué à partir du début. Si un des boutons suivants est pressé en mode de veille, l’unité se met aussi en service: En mode STOP, pressez la touche MUSIC SKIP (.
Lecture Directe Affichage du temps En mode Stop ou en lecture, vous pouvez utiliser les touches numériques de la télécommande pour choisir un morceau. Chaque fois que la touche TIME est pressé en lecture, l’affichage change comme suit: Pressez les touches numériques pour sélectionner un morceau. La lecture commence à partir du morceau sélectionné. Lecture CD/CD-R/CD-RW Pour jouer les pistes 1 à 9, simplement appuyer la touche appropriée (1 à 9).
Lecture répétée A chaque pression sur la touche REPEAT, le mode répétition change comme suit: REPEAT ALL REPEAT 1 Répétition A-B Répétition d’une section désignée Veuillez noter que les disques CD-R/CD-RW qui ne sont pas finalisés ne peuvent pas être utilisés pour la répétition A-B. (désactivé) REPEAT ALL (Répétition de tout le disque) Appuyez sur la touche REPEAT une fois en lecture. Tous les morceaux du disque seront répétés. En lecture programmée, la liste programmée sera répétée.
Lecture Programmée On peut programmer la lecture d’un maximum de 32 morceaux dans l’ordre souhaité. < Si vous avez fait une erreur, appuyez sur la touche CLEAR. Le dernier numéro programmé sera effacé. < Mettre un disque compact en place avant de commencer la programmation. < Pendant la lecture programmées, la lecture aléatoire est impossible. < La lecture programmée fonctionne seulement avec les disques finalisés. < Pour annuler le mode programmation, appuyez sur la touche STOP (H).
Avant d’enregistrer Pour enlever un morceau de la liste programmée En mode arrêt, appuyez sur la touche PROGRAM CHECK plusieurs fois jusqu’à ce que le morceau à effacer s’affiche, pressez alors le bouton CLEAR. Le morceau sélectionné est effacé de la liste programmée. Pour effacer la liste programmée < Cet appareil requiert des disques numériques audio CD-R ou CD-RW pour l’enregistrement. Des disques d’ordinateur CD-R ou CD-RW ne fonctionnent pas avec cet appareil.
Enregistrement 1 6 4 4 Appuyer sur la touche RECORD. 3 2 5 Les indicateurs et J s’allument sur l’affichage et l’appareil passe au mode pause d’enregistrement. 1 Mettre un CD-R ou CD-RW enregistrable en place dans l’appareil. Appuyer sur la touche OPEN/CLOSE (L), poser un disque sur le plateau avec la face imprimée sur le dessus, puis appuyer sur la touche OPEN/CLOSE (L) pour fermer le plateau. S’assurer que les indicateurs NO TOC et “CD-R” (ou “CDRW”) s’allument sur l’affichage.
Division manuelle de morceau 6 Appuyer sur la touche PLAY ou PAUSE pour démarrer l’enregistrement. Pendant l’enregistrement, on peut le diviser en morceaux. Pendant l’enregistrement, appuyer sur la touche RECORD. Le numéro de morceau courant sera incrémenté d’une unité. 7 Mettre la source à enregistrer en lecture. Quand la lecture de la source est terminée, appuyer sur la touche STOP pour arrêter l’enregistrement. < Le bouton STANDBY/ON ne fonctionne pas durant l’enregistrement.
Division automatique de morceau A .TRACK (–60, –50, –40 ou –30 dB) En enregistrement numérique, l’unité insère automatiquement une séparation de morceaux dans le matériel enregistré lorsqu’un signal d’incrémentation est détecté. Quand on appuie une fois sur la touche AUTO/MANUAL, le mode courant est affiché. Pour sélectionner tout autre mode, appuyer sur la touche AUTO/MANUAL à plusieurs reprises. Enregistrement synchronisé L’enregistrement synchronisé signifie que l’enregistrement commencera automatiquement dès que l’appareil recevra un signal et s’arrêtera dès qu’il n’y aura plus de signal émis.
Finalisation 1 3 3 Appuyez sur la touche PLAY (y) pour commencer la finalisation. 2 Cette section concerne ce qui suit l’enregistrement. Une fois finalisé, les disques CD-R sont véritablement finalisés. Il n’est plus possible d’ajouter d’autre pistes. Par contre, les disques CD-RW peuvent être “dé-finalisés” et s’il y a de l’espace, du matériel additionnel peut être enregistrer.
Effacement ou dé-finalisation d’un CD-RW 1 3 2 “UNFINALIZE” (définaliser) apparaît quand un disque finalisé est mis en place. “ERASE” et le numéro du dernier morceau apparaissent quand le disque n’a pas été finalisé. A chaque pression sur la touche ERASE, l’affichage change comme suit: Il est possible d’effacer le dernier ou les derniers morceaux enregistrés sur un disque. Il n’est par contre pas possible d’effacer des morceaux situés au milieu du disque.
Dépannage En cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement, consultez le tableau qui suit et tentez de résoudre la question qui se pose à vous avant de faire appel au revendeur ou au service d’entretien de TEAC. N’allume pas e Assurez-vous que l’appareil est branché. Assurez-vous que la source d’alimentation n’est pas commuté et si c’est le cas que le commutateur est en marche. Assurez-vous que la prise de courant est allimentée en branchant un autre appareil tel qu’une lampe ou ventilateur.
