FEATURES AND DESIGN This Multimedia Rear-Projection Display is designed for various use. The projector has large screen and utilizes built-in multimedia features, a palette of 16.77 million colors, and active matrix liquid crystal display (LCD) technology. u Compatibility This projector is compatible with many different types of personal computers and video devices, including; l IBM-compatible computers, including laptops, up to 1280 ´ 1024 resolution.
INSTALLATION INSTALLING THE PROJECTOR Caution to the Installation Contact the sales dealer and request to install this projector. For installing this appliance properly, technical services are required. Any person who is not familiar with technical terms and skills, should not attempt to install. This projector should be installed referring to the Installation Manual separately attached.
INSTALLATION CAUTION FOR INSTALLATION OF THE PROJECTOR When using or installing the projector, following attention should be taken: l We recommend to avoid dusty / smoky place for operating the projector. . When using under the dusty or smoky conditions, dust may accumulate on the LCD panel and Lens inside it, and may be projected on the screen together with the picture. When the symptoms above are noticed, contact your authorized dealer or service station for the cleaning.
INSTALLATION PREPARING THE REMOTE CONTROLS Remote Control Battery Installation WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL UNIT 1 Remove the battery compartment lid. 2 Slide the batteries into the compartment. Press the lid downward and slide it. 3 Replace the compartment lid. Two AA size batteries Slide the lid upward. For correct polarity (+ and –), be sure the battery terminals are in contact with the pins in the compartment. WIRELESS/WIRED REMOTE CONTROL UNIT 1 Remove the battery compartment lid.
INSTALLATION Caution for handling Remote Control Units When operating the Remote Control Units, please observe the following precautions: l Avoid contact with water. l Do not expose the Remote Control Units to moisture, or heat. l Do not drop the Remote Control Units. Caution for handling batteries Install batteries properly to match the "+" and "–" marks inside the case. If batteries are installed or used incorrectly, it may cause liquid leak, explosion, injury, fire hazard, or pollution.

INSTALLATION CONNECTING THE AC POWER CORD This projector uses nominal input voltages of 100 ~ 120 V AC. It is designed to work with single-phase power systems having a grounded neutral conductor. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not plug into any other type of power system. Consult a sales dealer or service station if you are not sure of the type of power supply being in use. Connect the projector with the peripheral equipment before turning the projector on.
CONNECTING THE PROJECTOR TERMINALS OF THE PROJECTOR This projector has various kind of terminals to connect with peripheral equipment. Connect the projector with these equipment before turning them on. (Refer to page 14 ~ 17 for connection.) Rear Terminal COMPUTER IN 1 AUDIO IN 1 Connect the Computer output to this terminal. (Refer to page 14 and 15.) AUDIO 1 COMPUTER IN 1 Connect the Audio output from the computer to this terminal. (Refer to page 14 and 15.
CONNECTING THE PROJECTOR COMPUTER IN Terminal : HDB15-PIN Connect the display output terminal of the computer to the projector with the VGA Cable (supplied). When connecting the Macintosh computer the MAC/VGA Adapter is required. CONTROL PORT Terminal : MULTI-POLE 12-PIN When controlling the computer with the projector's Wireless Remote Control Unit, connect control port (PS/2, Serial or ADB port) on your computer to this terminal. (Three types of cables are supplied.

The S-VIDEO jack has priority over the VIDEO jack. u When connecting the video source to the VIDEO IN 2, connect either the Video cable or the BNC cable to the projector.

BEFORE OPERATION Indicators and Remote Receiver LAMP REPLACE WARNING TEMP. READY LAMP LAMP REPLACEMENT INDICATOR LAMP INDICATOR Light turns to yellow when the life of a projection lamp draws to an end. (Refer to Page 42.) TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR Flashes red when internal projector temperature is too high. Light is dim when the projector is on. And light is brightened when the projector is in stand-by mode. READY INDICATOR Light is green when the projector is ready to be turned on.
BEFORE OPERATION OPERATION OF THE REMOTE CONTROLS Wireless Remote Control Unit This remote control unit is not only able to operate the projector but also usable as a wireless mouse for a PC. One pointing pad and two click buttons are used for wireless mouse operation. Wireless mouse is usable when PC mouse pointer is displayed on the screen, the wireless mouse cannot be used when the On-Screen Menu is displayed. PC BUTTON FINE SYNC BUTTON Used to select source among Computer 1 ~ 3.
BEFORE OPERATION Wireless/Wired Remote Control Unit When the Remote Control Unit cannot be pointed at the Infrared Remote Receiver, connect the Wired/Wireless Remote Control Unit to the projector with the Remote Control Cable(supplied). WIRED REMOTE JACK When using as wired remote control, connect the remote cable to this jack. FINE SYNC BUTTON ON-OFF BUTTON Use to adjust fine sync. Used to turn the projection lamp on or off. VOLUME BUTTON ON-OFF Used to adjust volume. VOLUME FINE SYNC.
BEFORE OPERATION OPERATING ON-SCREEN MENU HOW TO OPERATE ON-SCREEN MENU You can control and adjust this projector through ONSCREEN MENU. Refer to P18 ~35 to operate ONSCREEN MENU. 1 MOVING THE POINTER Move the pointer (see the NOTE below) by pressing POINT button(S) on the FRONT CONTROL or the REMOTE CONTROL(S). WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL POINT BUTTON Used to move the Pointer to UP/ DOWN/ RIGHT/ LEFT. SELECT BUTTON Used to select the item.
BEFORE OPERATION MENU BAR MENU BAR IN COMPUTER MODE Press MENU BUTTON while being in Computer mode. SYSTEM MENU IMAGE MENU PC ADJUST MENU SETTING MENU Used to select a computer system. (Refer to P27) Used to adjust the computer image. [Fine sync. / Total dots / Contrast / Brightness] (Refer to P29) Used to adjust the parameters to match with the input signal format. BASIC OPERATION TURNING ON / OFF THE PROJECTOR Turning on the Projector 1 Connect the peripheral equipment (Computer, VCR, and etc.) before turning on the projector. (Refer to "CONNECTING TO THE PROJECTOR" on Pages 10~15 for connecting those equipment. 2 Connect the projector's AC power cord into a wall outlet and turn the MAIN ON/OFF switch (located on the Front Control) to the ON position. The LAMP POWER indicator lights RED, and the READY indicator lights GREEN.
BASIC OPERATION SOUND ADJUSTMENT Direct Operation It indicates the roughly level of the volume. Sound Volume Adjustment Press the VOLUME (+/–) buttons (located on the Front Control or on the Remote Control Units) to adjust the volume. The Volume dialog box appears on the screen for a few seconds. (+) button to increase the volume, and (–) button decreasing. Sound Mute Setting Press the MUTE button on the Remote Control Units to cut off the sound.
COMPUTER MODE SELECTING COMPUTER MODE Direct Operation Press the MODE button on the Front Control or the PC button on Remote Control Units. Select the Mode among Computer1 to Computer 3 corresponding with the input source. The display of "Computer 1," "Computer 2," "Computer 3," "Video 1," "Video 2," or "Video 3"appears on the screen for a few second. (The "Computer 1," "Computer 2," or "Computer 3" appears when pressing the PC button.
COMPUTER MODE SELECTING COMPUTER SYSTEM Automatic Multiscanning system This projector automatically adapt to most different types of computer based on VGA, SVGA or XGA (refer to "COMPATIBLE COMPUTER SPECIFICATION" on page 28). When selecting "Computer 1," "Computer 2," or "Computer 3", this projector become automatically suited to the incoming signal and projectors the proper image without any special setting. (Setting of the Computer System may be required when connecting some computers.
COMPUTER MODE PC ADJUSTMENT This Projector can automatically detect display signals from most personal computers currently distributed. However, some computers employ special signal formats which are different from the standard ones and may not be detected by this projector. If this happens, the projector cannot reproduce a proper image and the image is recognized as a flickering picture, a non-synchronized picture, a non-centered picture or a skewed picture.

COMPUTER MODE Auto Image Function The Auto Image function is provided to automatically adjust Fine sync., Total dots, and Picture Position for most computers. 1 Press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select AUTO IMAGE and press the SELECT (REAR CLICK) button. Another dialog box AUTO IMAGE Menu will appear. 2 Move the arrow to an item that you want to adjust by pressing the POINT UP/DOWN button.
COMPUTER MODE PICTURE POSITION ADJUSTMENT The position of the image can be adjusted vertically and horizontally through PICTURE POSITION ADJUSTMENT. 1 Press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select POSITION and press the SELECT (REAR CLICK) button. Another dialog box PICTURE POSITION Menu will appear.

VIDEO MODE PICTURE SCREEN ADJUSTMENT This projector has a picture screen resize function, which enables you to display the image in desirable size. 1 Press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select SCREEN and press the SELECT (REAR CLICK) button. Another dialog box PICTURE SCREEN ADJUSTMENT DISPLAY will appear. 2 Press the POINT DOWN button and a red-arrow icon will appear.
SETTING SETTING MENU 1 Press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select SETTING and press the SELECT (REAR CLICK) button. Another dialog box SETTING Menu will appear. 2 Press the POINT DOWN button and a red-arrow icon will appear. Move the arrow to the item that you want to set, and then press the SELECT (REAR CLICK) button to set it "On" or "Off".
APPENDIX OPERATING WIRELESS MOUSE The Wireless Remote Control Unit is not only able to operate the projector but also usable as a wireless mouse for a PC. One Pointing Pad (POINT button) and two click buttons are used for wireless mouse operation. Wireless mouse is usable when PC mouse pointer is displayed on the screen. When the menu or indicator of the projector is displayed on the screen instead of the PC mouse pointer, the wireless mouse cannot be used.
APPENDIX MOUSE/KEYBOARD CONNECTION This projector equips the Mouse/Keyboard Cables in the Storage Cabinet (left side), and the Mouse/Keyboard Terminals on the Front Terminal. Connecting these cables and terminals enable you to control the computer easily. Connecting Mouse/Keyboard to the Projector 1 Connect the Mouse/Keyboard Cable(s) in the Storage Cabinet (left side) to your computer as the figure below. Be sure to connect the cable(s) corresponding with your computer.
APPENDIX MAINTENANCE TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR The TEMPERATURE WARNING Indicator flashes red when the internal temperature of the projector exceeds the normal temperature. The Indicator stops to flash when the temperature of the projector become normal. When the TEMPERATURE WARNING Indicator continues to flash, make sure the matters below. 1 The Ventilation slots of the projector are blocked. In such an event, reposition the appliance so that the ventilation slots are not obstructed.
APPENDIX LAMP REPLACEMENT Indicator When the Lamp of this projector draws to an end, the LAMP REPLACEMENT indicator lights yellow. When the image become dark or the color of the image become unnatural, replacement of the Lamp is required. Lamp Replacement CAUTION l For continued safety, replace with a lamp assembly of the same type. l Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before you open the lamp cover. The inside of the projector can become very hot.
APPENDIX TROUBLESHOOTING Before calling your dealer or service station for assistance, check the matters below once again. 1. Make sure you have connected the projector to your equipment a s described in section "CONNECTING THE PROJECTOR" on pages 12 ~ 17. 2. Check cable connection. Verify that all computer, video and power cord are properly connected. 3. Verify that all power is switched on. 4. If the projector still does not produce the image, re-start the computer. 5.
