Are these new locks in retail packaging with instructions and are all parts included?

Yes. Everything is included with items listed in NEW condition.

Is it possible to install this on horizontal flat surface (i.e. when you open the door by lifting it from a

horizontal flat position)?

This mechanism is not impacted by gravity. It will function whether vertically or horizontally installed. As

long as you are able to pull your door open after unlocking the device and turning your locking lugs to

the open/unlocked position, you should be fine.

Will it come with a number set that I can use, or do I have to set a new one to use?

The lock kit is factory set to “50” a single number code. Instructions are provided in the kit to show you

how to set the code to the three separate number codes, and these instructions are readily available on

YouTube. S&G also offers phone support with your purchase.

What about using Loctite for the new screws?

Yes you can use Loctite on the lock mounting screws. Please do not get any Loctite on the internal

components to the lock.

Does it come with a key to reset the combination?

Yes, you should receive a U8 change key, which will allow you to change the combination.

Will this lock fit all gun safes?

S&G's Magic Module footprint matches the mounting dimensions of most mechanical and electronic

safe locks.

Could I replace a SecuRam electronic lock with this?

Yes, you can replace any electronic lock that matches the mounting dimensions of 3.319"x2.4" with a

bolt extension of .46".

How far does the bolt extend in the locked position?

The bolt throw is 0.35 inches.

Do you reset the combination with the lock in the locked or unlocked position?

To change the combination, the lock has to be in the locked position.

How difficult a job is it to replace a lock yourself? Are special tools required?

S&G has installation videos located on their YouTube Channel. If you do not feel confident to complete

the installation, S&G recommends a Certified Safe Technician.

Who is S&G and where are their products made? Sargent and Greenleaf is an American owned company and are a Stanley Black & Decker company in the Security Division. Our products are mostly made in Nicholasville, KY and some in China. The YouTube video shows that a synthetic lubricant is used. Is it needed? if so, what brand is recommended? S&G uses Aeroshell 22 as a lubricant. You can also use Verislube or Gn Metal Paste. Other lubricants can cause swelling and distortion of working components.
