Cleaning the Print Head using Print Head Cleaner
1. Switch off the power to the printer.
2. Open the top cover and the front door.
3. Open the print head assembly by turning the head latch toward
the rear of the printer. The print head assembly is spring-loaded
and will automatically open as soon as the head latch is disen-
gaged.
4. Apply any SATO approved thermal print head cleaner to a cotton
swab.
5. The print head faces downward along the front edge of the
assembly. Pass the end of the dampened swab along the entire
width of the print head. (You may need to move the ribbon out of
the way to do this.)
6. Check for any black colouring or adhesive on the swab after
cleaning.
7. Repeat as necessary until the swab stays clean, after being
passed over the head.
8. The head should be cleaned at least every time the ribbon is
changed and more often in dusty environments.
