Step 4 å Fasten the ENDS (A and B) to the TOP (C). Tighten four TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. How to use the SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER 1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the hole of the adjoining part. NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must remain fully inserted in the hole of the adjoining part while locking the FASTENER. 2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips screwdriver as tight as possible.
Step 5 å Tap two MOLDING CONNECTORS (17F) into the notches in the FRONT LEGS (F and G) and TOP MOLDING (K). Don't worry. It isn't Rome. This can be built in a day. Use your hammer to tap the MOLDING CONNECTORS (17F) into the notches in the FRONT LEGS and TOP MOLDING. Flat end Flat end F G 17F 17F K www.sauder.
Step 6 å Insert two WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the FRONT LEGS (F and G). å NOTE: Be very careful when flipping over the FRONT LEGS and TOP MOLDING to fasten to your unit. å Fasten the FRONT LEGS (F and G) and TOP MOLDING (K) to the ENDS (A and B) and TOP (C). Step 7 å å å Slide the BOTTOM MOLDING* (L) onto the notched edge of the BOTTOM (D). Then, fasten the BOTTOM (D) to the ENDS (A and B). Step 8 å Carefully turn your unit over onto its front edges. Unfold the BACK (E) and lay it over your unit. å Make equal margins along all four edges of the BACK (E). Push on opposite corners of your unit if needed to make it "square". å Fasten the BACK (E) to your unit using the NAILS (1N). Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. Step 9 å å Carefully stand your unit upright. å Push the RUBBER SLEEVES (2R) over the METAL PINS (1R). Insert the METAL PINS into the hole locations of your choice in the ENDS (A and B). Set the ADJUSTABLE SHELVES (J) onto the METAL PINS. å *U.S. Patent No. 5,499,886 Slide an ADJUSTABLE SHELF MOLDING* (M) onto the notched edge of an ADJUSTABLE SHELF (J). Repeat this step for the remaining ADJUSTABLE SHELF and ADJUSTABLE SHELF MOLDING. Pro Tip: Lift with your legs. And, you know, your arms.
Step 10 å å IMPORTANT: This unit must be positioned against a wall. å å å Push a CAM COVER (13P) onto each visible HIDDEN CAM. We recommend using the SAFETY BRACKET (1G) for added stability. Use a BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (1S) into the top of the unit and a BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREW (2S) into a stud in your wall. NOTE: Please read the back pages of the instruction booklet for important safety information. This completes assembly. Clean with your favorite furniture polish or a damp cloth.
