The Big Day: Activation Day
You have had a basic overview of what our MySpeakeasy stages mean, and the
average time they take to occur, but the most important part of this process is the actual
activation day. This is the day your service will be fully functional. Provided below is a
description of what will occur on this day, and what assistance you will need.
If you are having DSL service installed over a numbered, working phone line (line
shared), click here.

Line Shared Activation: Installing your Self Install Kit
Step One: Prepare the house for DSL
Install a DSL filter on every telephone in your house. Go to every room that has a
telephone to install a DSL filters. Your kit includes 2 kinds of DSL Filters, the inline filters
that dangle from the phone jack, as well as one flat panel model used for wall mounted
phones.

You must install a DSL filter on any of the following items that are connected to your
phone line including:
Faxes and answering machines.
Computers with dialup modems.
Satellite or pay per view cable services that connect to this phone line.
Telephony Devices for the Deaf.
