4. Antennas

4.1 Which antennas are available with ThurayaIP?

There are multiple antennas that have been approved by Thuraya for use with Thuraya IP. These are:

4.2 Can I use ThurayaIP on a ship?

Yes, by using Thuraya IP with a Spacecom 3D maritime antenna approved by Thuraya

4.3 Can I use ThurayaIP in a moving car?

Yes, by using ThurayaIP with a Spacecom 2D vehicle antenna approved by Thuraya

4.4 Are the ThurayaIP antennas under warranty if yes how long?

Yes, all ThurayaIP antennas come with a standard warranty. However the duration of the warranty

depends upon the manufacturer of the antenna.

4.5 I plan to have a VSAT installation next to ThurayaIP, will it be affected?

It is recommended to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters between the two. The distance also

depends on the VSAT frequency used and the antenna size also.

4.6 Can I use Thuraya DSL Spacecom Marine antenna with ThurayaIP terminal?

Yes, you can use ThurayaDSL Spacecom Maritime antenna with ThurayaIP with the following

modifications:

Use a new junction box that comes with ThurayaIP antennas.

Use a new GPS antenna that comes with ThurayaIP antennas.

4.7 Can a Thuraya IP terminal and a DSL Marine antenna (Space com - 3 Axis) be used on vehicles?
