5.9 How billing cycle is done for an unlimited plan? Suppose I subscribe on the 20th of July do I pay
for the full month of July or just on a prorata basis? If on prorata basis, is it a daily one or a weekly
one?
In such a case, it is pro-rata on daily basis.
5.10 If I decide to downgrade from ThurayaIP unlimited to Extra on the 25th of July, do I have to
pay for the full month for the unlimited plan? When does the billing start for my new Extra plan?
Yes, you can downgrade but this is possible only at the end of the month and you have to pay for the
full month for the unlimited plan. The billing cycle for the extra plan will start on the 1st of the following
month.
5.11 If I want to upgrade from Starter plan to Unlimited do I have to pay any extra fee/penalty?
You can upgrade from starter plan to unlimited plan without paying any extra penalty. You will have to
pay the charges for the unlimited plan only.
5.12 Do I have to pay any penalties for downgrading my subscription plans?
Yes, the downgrading shall be effective only at the beginning of the following month and a nominal
penalty charges apply.
5.13 Can I use my ThurayaIP SIM on DSL?
Yes, but the bandwidth will be limited to 144 Kbps only.
5.14 When DSL service will be discontinued?
Thuraya DSL service will be discontinued from 31st Dec 2010.
5.15 When DSL service is discontinued, will my subscription be discontinued as well?
No, if you want you can continue this subscription on ThurayaIP terminal.
5.16 What are the costs to migrate from ThurayaDSL to ThurayaIP ?
Thuraya has announced very attractive migration options. Please ask your Service Provider to share the
details with you.
5.17 Can I continue using my DSL sim card on a Thuraya IP after 31st Dec 2010?
Yes, you can continue to use existing DSL SIM card on ThurayaIP terminal with two options:
Maintain existing DSL subscription: Bandwidth restricted to 144 Kbps
Upgrade to IP subscription: Bandwidth available shall be upto 444 Kbps
5.18 Can I get a postpaid IP unlimited SIM for 30 days only?
Yes, you can subscribe for an unlimited postpaid service for a period of 1 month.
5.19 If the subscriber is not fully using the MBs included in the package will there be a roll-over of
MB's?
No, there will be no roll-over of unused MBs, included in the package.
5.20 Can subscribers shift between Postpaid Plans?
