Note:
If not using the unit for a longer period of time, unplug the adaptor from the wall outlet
and from the unit.
Battery Power
1. Ensure that the AC/DC adaptor is disconnected from the radio and the mains power sup-
ply.
2. Insert 4x 1.5V size UM-3/AA batteries into the battery compartment. Be sure that the bat-
teries are inserted correctly to avoid damage to the appliance. Always remove the batteries
when the appliance will not be used for a long period of time, as this will cause leakage to
the batteries and subsequently damage to your set.
Note:
Use batteries of the same type. Never use different types of batteries together.
To use the appliance with batteries, disconnect the power adaptor from it.
Basic Functions
Switching the Unit On & Off
1. Power the unit as described above.
2. The unit is now in standby mode.
3. To switch the unit on, press the STANDBY button once.
4. To switch the unit off into standby mode, press the STANDBY button again.
Display Backlight
When the radio is in AC mode, the display backlight will be at full brightness all the time when
the unit is switched on and dimmed when the unit is in standby mode.
When the radio is in DC battery operation, the display backlight will be turned on to full bright-
ness for around 10 seconds and then go to dim. It will then be turned on to full brightness again
for 10 seconds on every key press. In standby mode, the radio and display backlight will be
turned off.
Mode Selection (Switching Between DAB+ and FM)
With the unit switched on, press the MODE button to switch between DAB+ and FM
mode.
Volume Control
To increase the volume, press the VOLUME+ button.
To decrease the volume, press the VOLUME- button.
Menus
The following controls are used to navigate the menu tree to choose and select the required
settings:
Press and hold for 2 seconds the MENU/INFO button while the unit is in DAB+ or FM
mode to enter the main menu.
Press the SELECT button to enter sub-menus or items and to conrm settings.
To exit the menu or go back inside the menu, repeatedly press the MENU/INFO button.
