InsightFacility Manual

Introduction
The InsightFacility is a multi-function communication device that provides an overall
view of system performance for residential power monitoring systems. It also provides a
communications gateway between a network of Xanbus™-enabled devices and Modbus
devices. Operators can configure the InsightFacility system and monitor performance
with third party software packages and building management systems.
Note: Depending on your access level, you may not be able to see all of the screens
described in this document. For more information, see User Access Levels
WARNING

n Connect only to Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) circuits and limited power
sources.
n All wiring must be done by qualified personnel to ensure compliance with all
applicable installation codes and regulations.
n For Indoor Use Only.
n Do not disassemble. No user serviceable parts inside.
n Do not dispose of the internal battery in a fire or hot oven. Do not crush or cut the
internal battery. Follow proper disposal procedures as outlined by your local
codes.
n Do not subject the InsightFacility to extremely high ambient temperature or
extremely low air pressure as flammable liquid of gas my leak from the battery.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment
damage.
Other features of the InsightFacility include:
n Compatibility—connects directly to Xanbus-enabled devices
n Real-time clock—keeps time for the entire system
n Non-volatile memory—preserves the latest InsightFacility settings if power is
interrupted or network communication is disrupted.
n Firmware storage and upgrade capability—uses the InsightFacility to upgrade or
downgrade firmware for Xanbus-enabled devices on the network.
n Cloud storage capability—Save and synchronize settings with the InsightFacility
cloud service.
