Precautions When Working With Batteries
Note: Battery work and maintenance must be done by qualified personnel
knowledgeable about batteries to ensure compliance with battery handling and
maintenance safety precautions.
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
Battery Circuit Breakers must be installed according to the specifications
and requirements defined by Schneider Electric.
Servicing of batteries must only be performed by qualified personnel
knowledgeable about batteries and the required precautions. Keep
unqualified personnel away from batteries.
Disconnect the charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting
battery terminals.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The batteries may explode.
When replacing batteries, replace with the same type and number of
batteries or battery packs.
Do not open or damage batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the
skin and eyes. It may be toxic.
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
Keep sparks and flames away from the batteries.
Use tools with insulated handles.
Wear protective glasses, gloves and boots.
Do not lay tools or other metal parts on top of batteries.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
