Configuring the Unit
Configure the charge controller using the SCP. See Appendix B, “Xantrex XW
System Control Panel Menus” for an overview of the SCP, or download the entire
SCP Owner’s Guide (Document Part Number 975-0298-01-01) at
www.schneider-electric.com.
Selecting a Unit
Before you can configure the charge controller’s settings, you must select the
charge controller’s device number in the SCP by performing the following steps:
1. On the System Status home screen, press Enter.
The Select Device menu opens.
2. Use the arrow buttons to scroll to the charge controller, and then press Enter.
The XW MPPT80 xx:Setup menu appears, where xx is the device number.
Viewing Basic and Advanced Settings
The charge controller has basic and advanced configuration menus. The basic
menu contains items you might have to view and adjust on a routine basis. The
advanced menu contains items intended for service personnel and one-time
setup, such as auxiliary output and custom battery configuration.
To display the Advanced Settings menu item instead of the Basic
Settings menu item, perform the following special keypress:
◆ From the Setup menu, press the Enter, up arrow, and down arrow buttons
simultaneously.
On the Setup menu, Basic Settings disappears from the bottom of the
list, and Advanced Settings appears at the top of the list.
After configuring the charge controller, help prevent unintended advanced
configuration by using the combined keypress again to hide the advanced menu
items.
