This manual is for use by qualified personnel only.
To lock out and tag out a Xantrex GT500:
1. Open the control panel access door on the inverter assembly, and then turn
the
ENABLE/DISABLE switch (S3) to the DISABLE position. See Figure 1-1 on
page 1-4 for the location of the switch.
2. Confirm that the DC switch (S1) on the inverter assembly is in the open (
OFF)
position. Lock out and tag out the switch.
3. Open the small circuit breaker access door on the left side of the transformer
assembly. The AC circuit breaker (CB1) has a lockable window on both the
PUSH TO OPEN and PUSH TO CLOSE buttons. See Figure i. Lock out and tag out
the AC circuit breaker (CB1) in the
OPEN position:
a) Use a crosshead (Phillips) screwdriver to remove the screw on the
lockable window covering the P
USH TO OPEN button.
b) Confirm the status indicates OPEN.
c) Close the window covering the P
USH TO CLOSE button, and then secure it
with a pad lock.
d) Tag accordingly.
4. Open the transformer assembly’s left door only.
5. Confirm that the CB3 breaker is in the closed (
ON) position.
6. Confirm that the CB4 breaker (if external auxiliary AC power is installed) is in
the closed (
ON) position.
7. Open, lock out, and tag out all incoming PV input circuits at the external PV
disconnecting means provided by the installer as part of the installation.
NOTICE
To open the AC circuit breaker (CB1) access door on the transformer
assembly, turn the thumb latch.
To open the transformer assembly (AC) doors:
Using a flat head screwdriver, turn the slot on the latch 90 degrees
clockwise.
Pull on the handle upwards, and then rotate the handle counterclockwise to
open.
To open the DC switch (S1) access door on the inverter assembly, use a flat
head screwdriver to turn the latch.
To open the inverter assembly (DC) doors:
Using a flat head screwdriver, turn the slot on the latch 90 degrees
clockwise.
Pull the handle upwards to unlock the doors.
