Moving the Assemblies with a Forklift
To move the Xantrex GT500 using a forklift:
1. Place the forklift forks in the channels provided on the frame of one of the
assemblies.
2. Stabilize the assembly with a safety strap (see Figure 3-5).
3. Lift the assembly from beneath.
4. Remove the shipping pallet from beneath the assembly.
5. Once the shipping pallet is removed, use the same lifting locations to lift the
assembly into the place where it will be permanently located.
WARNING
HAZARD OF CRUSH INJURY
• The inverter and transformer assemblies are top heavy and could become
unbalanced.
• Verify that the capacity of the handling equipment is adequate for each
assembly’s weight (see Table A-1 on page A–2).
• Stabilize the assemblies with a safety strap to reduce the possibility of
tipping.
• Keep all unnecessary personnel away while handling and moving the
assemblies.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
Use a forklift with a 61 cm (24 in.) fork span center-to-center.
