Moving the Inverter Assembly with a Sling
To move the inverter assembly using a sling:
1. Use a sling at the locations indicated in Figure 3-6. Use slings with pin inserts
for the frame, and use a spreader bar when hoisting to help prevent damage
to the inverter assembly (see Figure 3-6). Hoisting equipment is not
provided.
2. Select or adjust the rigging lengths to compensate for any unequal weight
distribution of load and to keep the inverter assembly in an upright position.
3. To reduce the tension on the rigging and the compressive load on the lifting
or spanner bars and spreaders, do not allow the angle between the lifting
cables and vertical to exceed 45°.
4. Do not pass ropes or cables through the lift holes in bars, angles, or
channels. Use slings with safety hooks or shackles.
5. Lift the inverter assembly from above.
6. Remove the shipping pallet from beneath the inverter assembly.
7. Once the shipping pallet is removed from the inverter assembly, use the
same lifting locations to lift it into place where it will be permanently located.
WARNING
HAZARD OF CRUSH INJURY
• Verify that the capacity of the handling equipment is adequate for the
inverter assembly’s weight (see Table A-1 on page A–2).
• Keep all unnecessary personnel away while handling and moving the
assemblies.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
