Pump cycling for combination space
and domestic hot water heating systems
As building enclosures become more energy efficient and heating
loads are small, a single hot water heater can often supply hot water
for both domestic use and space heating.
This type of heating system is especially popular in multi-family
housing.
For such systems, this option can be turned ON to avoid potential
microbial buildup in the space heating plumbing loop during periods
of inactivity.
This feature assures that the heating circulator operates for at least
one minute out of every 24 hours.
