Keeping Clean
• To make clean up easier, cover your counter or table with newspaper to catch spills.
• Make sure all equipment is very clean before you use it. Any dirt or dust may cause
unwanted crystallization.
• If you accidentally spill colored solution on your clothes, immediately wash it with hot
water and heavy duty detergent. Better yet, wear an apron or old T-shirt while making
your crystals.
• Wash and dry your equipment before and after using.
• For best results, when measuring different ingredients, rinse and dry the measuring
equipment between each item.
• Reseal each package of crystal powder after using it.
Crystal Growing
• Sometimes crystals can take a long time to grow. If you don’t see enough growth,
try moving the growing container to a warmer and drier place.
An adult helper must be present
when using the stove.
