3.  USING THE APPLICATION 
3.1 Introduction 
Before beginning Marking 
1. Mechanic 
During positioning of the part in marking position verify that there is no possibility of 
collision of the stylus during operation. 
Adjust the distance between stylus and part, according to the hardness of the material to 
be marked; for soft materials part has to be located as near as possible to the stylus. 
Do not use high pressures when keeping the marking angle lower than 75 degrees vs. 
the marking surface. 
For high pressure marking, control that the part is tightly fastened. 
Before a new marking operation, make sure that the stylus holder is correctly fastened. 
Periodical dry cleaning must be done to the punching stylus. 
Never lubricate any part of the stylus. 
Never lubricate the axis. 
Resharpen the stylus when it is blunt. 
2. Electric 
Connectors must be handled with care. 
Verify that voltage is the correct one. 
Verify that earth connections are correct. 
Verify that connectors are correctly fitted both to the Control Unit and the Marking Unit. 
3. Pneumatic 
Be sure that air is dry. 
Do not misuse air tubes. 
Periodical dry cleaning must be done to air filter. 
When you are planning the marking work, remember that the marking area may be 80x50, 
100x80 mm or 200x200 mm as indicated in figure. The X/Y coordinates of the marking 
start that may be programmed on the menu are referred to the electric zero point (lower). 
On the contrary the mechanic rest stylus position is upper.
