Setting up the eyesite 550
Use the number keys, or press the Up or Down arrow keys to select an option in the
list.
IP Address Mode Options are either Static, DHCP (Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol), or PPPoE (point-to-Point Protocol
over Ethernet). When DHCP is enabled the IP Address, Net
Mask and Gateway are setup automatically at the beginning
of each session. Using PPPoE you will additionally need to
enter the user name and password used with your Internet
Service Provider. When Static is selected, the IP Address,
Net Mask and Gateway need to be setup.
IP Address Obtain an IP Address from your Network Administrator or
Service Provider. Enter the IP Address in the IP Address
field. Use the number keys on the key pad; use the * key
(located at the bottom left of the key pad) or the Right arrow
key to enter a space to represent a period (.) in the IP address.
Net Mask Change the Net Mask to a valid subnet mask for your
network (for example 255.255.255.0). Use the number keys
on the key pad; use the * key (located at the bottom left of the
key pad) or the Right arrow key to enter a space to represent
a period (.) in the IP address.
Gateway Change the Gateway to reflect the gateway for your network
(for example 192.168.1.254). Calls are routed to the gateway
if the destination address is in a different IP subnet. Use the
number keys on the key pad; use the * key (located at the
bottom left of the key pad) or the Right arrow key to enter a
space to represent a period (.) in the IP address.
UDP Port Enter the UDP Port number using the number keys on the
key pad. The UDP port allows multiple units to share the
external IP address of your firewall. Set up a port forwarding
rule on the firewall to forward all packets with a particular
UDP port number to the local address of the eyesite 550.
The UDP port number can also be set to match permitted
ports on the firewall for ease of installation.
