If the microchip in the key is working properly, you will see the popup box similar to the one shown
below :
The key number shown by the popup box is the 64 bit serial number of the key. (Shown in
Hexidecimal format) Note that this only tests the microchip in the key; it does not check for a weak
magnet.
If you receive a pop up box stating " Key Not Found", try repositioning the key again on the post.
If you still receive the "Key Not Found" message after repeated trys, remove key, clean the
stainless metal contacts on the key with a pencil eraser and try again. If it still will not read, the key
is likely no good.
