4-TEC Faults and Diagnosis
CANDooPro recommends that users carefully study the terms and procedures outline in this
section before using the system to diagnose faults. Please read the Overview section before
moving on to the Fault Diagnosis section.

Fault Overview
The 4-TEC Engine Management System continually checks the various components in the system
for proper operation. If it detects a problem with any component in the system, it will create an
active fault related to the problem. Anytime this happens, the system logs these faults within the
fault table. For many of these faults, it also logs a range of engine operating conditions. Note that
not all faults are stored. Some faults, once fixed, have no record in the fault table.
The Fault Page:
The 4-TEC fault system displays data associated with faults that have been logged since the last
time the faults have been cleared. For any faults listed in the box on the left side, simply click on
the fault code number to have the page display the information associated with the fault code.
Many, but not all faults will have information stored with the fault that will assist in troubleshooting
the problem associated with the fault.
