Useonlyyourhandto pushin or turnthegascontrol
knob.Neverusetools.If theknobwillnot pushin or
turnbyhand,don'ttrytorepairit, calla qualified ser-
vicetechnician.Forceor attemptedrepairmayresult
in afireorexplosion.
Donotuse thisapplianceif anypart hasbeenunder
water.Immedtzitelycall a qualified servicetechnician
toinspecttheapplianceandto replaceanypartofthe
controlsystemandany gas controlwhichhasbeen
underwater.

2.Removeouterdoor.
3. Set thethermostatto lowestsettinq by turningthe
watertemperaturedialclockwise,(( _,)toits lowest
temperaturesetting(witharrowondial)as shown.DO
NOT FORCE.
4oTurngas controlknobclockwlse_d'l to "OFF'*posi-
tion. Knobcannotbeturnedfrom "PILOT" to "OFF"
unlessknobis depressedslightly.DO NOT FORCE.

5_Waitfive (5) minutesto clearout anygas°If youthen
smellgas,STOP!Follow"B" in thesafetyinformation
aboveon this label.If youdon'tsmellgas,go to the
nextstep°
6oRemove(or open) innerdoorlocatedbelow the gas
controlunit,(Figure9,page15)
7.Findpilot-followmetaltubefromgascontrol.Thepilot
is locatedontherighthandsideoftheburner°

8. Ifyou don't smell gas,turn knobon gascontrolcounter
c!ockwise_@ to"PILOT"position. (Figure7, page15)
9oPush in control knob all the way and hold down.
Immediatelylightthepilotwitha match.Continueto
holdcontrolknobin for aboutone (1) minuteafter
thepilotis lit. Releaseknoband it willpop backup.
Pilotshouldremainlit.If it goesout, repeatsteps 3
through8.
If knobdoesnotpopupwhenreleased,stopand
immediatelycall your servicetechnicianor gas
supplier.
' If the pilot will not stay lit after several tries,
depressandturnthegascontrolknobclockwise

10.Replace(or close)innerdoor°Replaceouter doorif
