Switching on/off
Attention, important!
Before switching on the spectrum analyser, you must screw the antennas to the
antenna connectors (alternatively, use e.g. a 50 ohm terminating resistor).
If the spectrum analyser is switched on with the antennas missing (or if a 50 ohm
antenna is not connected), the receiver electronics can be damaged. Loss of war-
ranty!
The spectrum analyser with item no. 1386330 has 2x antenna connectors; an an-
tenna must be connected to both. The spectrum analyser with item no. 1386329 has
1x antenna connector.
Charging the battery
The integrated battery is generally discharged when the product is delivered. There-
fore,completelychargethebatterybeforerstuse.Thismaytakeseveralhours.
The battery can be charged via the USB port of a computer, a USB hub with own
power adapter or with a USB power adapter. Furthermore, you will need a suitable
USB cable (the spectrum analyser has a MiniUSB socket), which is not included in
the delivery.
a) Charging with PC
Switch the PC on.
Connect the spectrum analyser via a suitable USB cable with a free USB port in your computer.
Do not use USB ports of e.g. a keyboard as the current provided here is not suf-
cient.
The USB port must be able to supply a current of at least 500 mA.
Once the battery is charged, disconnect the spectrum analyser from the USB cable/PC.
b) Charging with USB hub
Connect the spectrum analyser via a suitable USB cable with a free USB port of your USB hub.
The USB port must be able to supply a current of at least 500 mA. Therefore, the
USB hub must have its own power adapter.
A USB hub without suitable power adapter cannot be used for charging the spect-
rum analyser.
Once the battery is charged, disconnect the spectrum analyser from the USB cable/USB hub.
c) Charging with USB power adapter
You will need a USB power adapter, which provides an output voltage of 5 V/DC and a current
of at least 500 mA.
Connect the spectrum analyser via a suitable USB cable with a free USB port of your USB
power adapter.
Once the battery is charged, disconnect the spectrum analyser from the USB cable/USB power
adapter.
