X To set up a serial port modem connection
1. Make sure that your phone is not connected to
another device.
2. On the Home screen, press Programs d,
select Accessories, and press Action A.
3. Select Modem Link, and press Action A.
4. Under Connection, select Serial (COM1), and
press Menu g. Select Activate.
z Note: (For serial ports only). The default baud
rate is set at 115,200. You do not need to
change this default unless the port speed of the
phone or computer requires you to do so.
X To activate the Modem Link
1. On the Home screen, press Programs d,
select Accessories, and press Action A.
2. Select Modem Link, and press Action A.
3. Press Menu g, select Activate, and press
Action A.
4. Align the phone’s IR port or connect the cable to
the device
X To deactivate the Modem Link
1. On the Home screen, press Programs d,
select Accessories, and press Action A.
2. Select Modem Link, and press Action A.
3. Press Menu g, select Deactivate, and press
Action A.
z Note: Failing to deactivate the Modem Link
when you are finished using it may result in
problems with using ActiveSync™ in the same
session.
Voice Notes
Voice Notes are used to create short voice
recordings. Recordings are included in the All Notes
list and are named consecutively (Recording 1,
Recording 2, and so on). The notes are named
automatically but you can rename them.
z Note: You can only use the Voice Note
functionality when the radio functionality is
active.
X To create a Voice Note
1. Hold the phone’s microphone close to your
mouth.
2. Do a quick press on the Record key, located on
the side of the Z100, and then press Record d
to begin recording.
3. Press Stop d when you’ve finished recording
the voice note.
X To view Voice Notes
1. Do a quick press on the Record key on the side
of the phone to display the All Notes screen. All
existing voice notes are listed.
X To play a Voice Note
1. Do a quick press on the Record key, and use the
: and ; keys to select the recording you want
to play.
