The EKI 1029 narrow-band bodypack receiver is an ideal choice for conference
applications with up to 32 switchable channels (EKI 1029 PLL 32), even very large
conferences can be catered for. The EKI 1029 can easily be attached to a shirt or
jacket pocket via the clip on the back or the conference participant simply places
the receiver on the table. The headphone socket allows connection of a wide range
of headphones, for the extensive Sennheiser range see the chapter on “Accessories.
Models range from lightweight stethoset headphones to almost invisible earphones.
Even the hearing impaired are catered for with the neck induction loop or induction
couplers. For example, a headphone model such as the HD 1029 offers optimum
comfort even when worn for many hours.
The EKI 1029 is automatically switched on when you connect a headphone plug to
the headphone output socket. When the plug is removed, the receiver is switched
off again. If no IR signal is received, energy-saving circuitry switches the receiver
with headphones connected to stand-by. This prevents the accupack from being
discharged too early, and there is no need to disconnect the headphones during con-
ference breaks. If the IR signal received is too weak for good reception, the EKI 1029
mutes the audio output signal via the built-in squelch.
The BA 1029 accupack is inserted at the side of the receiver. For recharging pur-
poses, the entire receiver (with the accupack inserted) is inserted into a slot in the
L 1029 charging and transport case, versions are available for 20 or 75 receivers.
Since the receivers have an operating time of appx. 30 hrs, they do not require daily
recharging.
The L 1029 transport and charging case serves to store, transport and recharge
the EKI 1029 receivers. The L 1029-75 version is designed for 75 receivers and the
L 1029-20 for 20 receivers. For recharging purposes, the receivers are inserted into
the recharging slots (1), and the accupacks remain in the receivers. In addition, you
can recharge up to five spare accupacks (2). The plug-in mains unit NT 29 is connected
as shown in the drawing (3). It is not delivered with the case but must be ordered
separately in the version you require (European, UK or USA versions available). The
L 1029 is fitted with a test socket (4) to check the voltage of the accupacks while
they remain in the receivers.
