Compatibility of aviation headsets with
mobile telephones
Connecting a mobile telephone
The 2.5 mm jack socket 1 on the control unit of the headset allows you
to connect your mobile telephone. For this to function correctly:
the headset microphone connector must be connected to the aircraft
radio/communication system,
• the aircraft radio/communication system must be powered and
switched on,
NoiseGard™ must be switched on on headsets with NoiseGard™
active noise compensation.
Connect the adapter cable (type a or b, see table on the left) to the
2.5 mm jack socket
1 on the control unit and connect it to your
mobile telephone:
A: directly via the mobile telephone‘s 2.5 mm jack socket
B: via an additional adapter if necessary
C: or, in the case of an iPhone, via an additional TTY adapter
If your mobile telephones does not feature a 2.5 mm jack socket,
you require an additional adapter. If you are using an iPhone,
you require an additional TTY adapter. You can purchase suitable
adapters from a specialist mobile telephone accessory retailer.
Sennheiser does not accept responsibility/liability for the
suitability, function or incorrect function of these adapters.
Sennheiser does not accept liability for damage arising from
abuse or misuse.
You can adjust the volume of the mobile telephone via the headset‘s
control unit. However, the functions of the mobile telephone cannot be
controlled via the headset‘s control unit.
CAUTION!
Danger of accident due to reduced attention!
Making telephone calls or operating the mobile telephone
limits your attention and may cause accidents.
During flight operation, do not use the headset for tele-
phone calls!
